(Tap) cloudy yellow colour with a small white head; slight aroma of burnt rubber, dry dirt; dryish flavour with a long, light bitter finish

Pours a very hazy, banana-lemon-yellow, with smallish head. Aroma is very dank, with citrus and tropical fruits. Flavor is citrus and tropical fruit, fairly smooth with a slight sweetness. There's a touch of pine-hop bitterness to the finish. Alcohol content well-hidden (no boozy flavor here). This is a good one.

Can from Jeff, Thanks for the hookup! Hazy dirty golden color with a thin but long lasting wispy white head. Earthy grassy citrus and light pine with bits of floral fruitiness and a bready maltiness underneath. Gritty chalky mouthfeel turns me off like so many of these juice bro beers.

Can from Jeff, thanks for the hookup. Hazy deep golden color with a good sized long lasting frothy off white head. Earthy and grassy with bits of apricot and citrus fruitiness. Light alcohol warming pretty tasty a little thick.

Can from Jeff, thanks for the hookup Hazy lemon yellow with a decent sized bubbly white head that quickly recedes. Earthy grassy bready aroma and flavor with a bit of astringency. Decent beer,

750ml bottle thanks to Chris pours out a dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is sweet molasses caramel malts some pit fruit aswell. Taste is more of the nice sweet malts pit fruit and a little spice.

Bottle shared at Rogers during G&MD's wedding weekend. Picked up at the brewery. Several years old. Pours oily black-brown with a foamy tan head. Quite good, with lots of ash, brownies, alcohol, burnt brown bread, scorched earth. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately oily and chewy. Hot finish, more bitter ashy roast, bittersweet baking cocoa. Solid gear.

750mL bottle drunk late 2014.
Rich golden-hued body is well-carbonated and clear with a small, off-white head atop showing moderate-to-low retention.
Honey, honey and more honey in the nose with gentle white wine acidity, light wood tannin and plentiful yellow fruit esters. No unwanted phenols (clove, bubble gum, cotton candy), minimal white pepper and not too heavy on the barrel, with lingering black pepper and moderate grape must, yet no alcohol or flaw.
In the mouth it's soft, supple, malty and yet well-attenuated with soft barrel tannin, light mineral character from the wine and plentiful honey-like malt notes with lingering yellow fruit, vanilla and light oak. Very rich and flavorful, yet doesn't feel heavy or sluggish on the palate; tight carbonation helping with that. No alcohol or flaw. Really disappointing that Mystic has all but abandoned its saison program to become just another cookie-cutter contemporary brewery. Though I don't blame them; NE IPAs and fruited, lactose kettle sours sell like wildfire, so what can ya do....

Batch 1 750mL bottle at Bukowski's Boston, 2011.
Clear, brass-bronze body is well-carbonated and forms a large, white head showing moderate retention.
Smells malty and bready with honey, biscuit, dough and light cereal. The yeast signature shows light white pepper, a bit of clove, some earth and basement must, with mushy yellow fruit esters and some rather earthy-to-peppery hop notes that don't quite balance the malt. No alcohol or flaw.
In the mouth it shows a substantial, soft, malty texture with honey, cereal and biscuit-like notes, high but engaging carbonation and a varied yeast character ranging from less-desirable clove and strong white pepper, to more musty funk and moderately fruity ester. Hops are light bitter, adding pepper and dried herb notes that are appreciated but don't really keep it from being just a bit too "thick and malty", in my opinion. Would definitely appreciate a more delicate yeast character, as well; it's not too clove-heavy, but it would be nice if there was none. No alcohol or flaw. Definitely drinkable and for their first bottled offering, encouraging.

Draught at Prohibition Pig, 3/15/14.
Lightly hazy, bright, brass-golden with a small but firm, white head atop.
Lovely herbal-floral hops in the nose sit alongside light honey from the malt and a strong mineral character with moderate black pepper in the background. Good malt depth but also vivaciously hoppy. No alcohol or flaw.
In the mouth it's soft and malty with good dryness and malt depth, light honey-like notes and mild black pepper with light esters being overtaken by fresh, herbal hop notes, lush grass and light bits of yellow fruit-like character. Well-attenuated and tightly-carbonated with supple malt and no alcohol or flaw. While it's hoppy, the saison character still comes through, with plentiful mineral and phenolic character on the finish.
