Welcome to the Falstaff Pub and Brewery
We are a Derby micro-brewery selling our beers throughout Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire and the West Midlands. We have a stable of six regular brews and each month we brew specials that change in style and strength.
The Falstaff pub is a traditional real ale house. We have up to 6 hand-pulls serving real ale, generally our own brews with the occasional guest ale. We serve draught lagers, ciders and Guinness with a selection of spirits, wines and soft drinks available.

Cask at Falstaff, Derby Pours a polished golden yellow with a small white head. A lovely peppery aroma leads to a well balanced mouthfeel. The understated hops are in harmony with oranges and apricots, and just a hint of liquorice in the background. The hops dominate in the strong finish. Father nice and drinkable.

Cask at Standing order, Derby Another one that I can’t believe I’ve not rated before. Pours a pale orange with an average white head, and good lacing. Nose has orange peel, which occurs again in the mouth along with lemon and nectarines. Sweet with malty undertones. Finish is hoppy with lemon and ginger. Very easy drinking for its strength. Seems to be sharper and orangey than I remember when drinking it at the brewery, so a rerate may be in order next time I go back there. RERATE - cask at brewery tap : nothing in the above description was wrong, except I would describe the colour as burnished copper. However, the balance seems a lot better than for the original rating, so I have upped the scores a bit.

Cask ale at the Prince of Wales, Ilkeston. Mid- to dark gold, clear with a small film of white head and lots of lacing. Grassy smell, some caramel, a bit of a metallic edge. Bitter as hell taste with a vegetal note mid-sip. More bittering hops toward the finish. Probably a decent enough beer, not quite in its best condition here.

Cask at Creaky Floorboard, Derby Nose is a heady concoction of fruits and malts. Pours a very dark red with a small beige head. Very little carbonation. In the mouth there are plums and raspberries with just a hint of chocolate. A generally fruity finish. Not a typical mild, but strong and sweet. Very much like Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby.
