On tap at the Euston Tap. Light haze on this gold amber beer. Short white head. Light dry palate. Mild fine carbonation. Tangy tea malt, bitter. Citrus orange comes through. Juicy and medium bitter. Dry finish.

Aroma: Quite a sweet smell - honey and butterscotch.
Appearance: Deep amber body with yeast flecks. Bubbly white head. Light carbonation. Slight lacing.
Taste: Very different to the aroma - spicy malt, pineapple fruit and mouth-puckeringly bitter. It’s quite heavy and harsh - not the most easy drinking IPA I’ve tasted.
Palate: Medium bodied with an oily texture. Gentle carbonation. Lasting bitter finish.
Overall: Packed full of hops, but there’s very little balance.

Cask at the Euston Tap, London. Pours clear, vibrant gold with a medium, frothy white foam head. Toasty dough in the nose with subtle orange. Light to medium sweet, quite doughy with hints of butter, pine, grass, faint citrus. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Light sweet finish, some faintly tangy citrus, light toast, light toasted grass. It’s OK. The diacetyl character fades as I drink. But still, the overall character is actually a bit wimpy and the beer is kind of a let-down.

Cask at Cask Pub and Kitchen, Pimlico, London. A golden coloured pour with a decent white head on top. Hoppy, citrus fruit aroma. Tastes hoppy, fruity, malty. Would make a decent session beer.

Bottle at Pat’s Birthday Tasting at Chriso’s, London. Pours brown with a small, off-white head. Big hazelnut coffee aroma. Very true. Light to medium sweet flavor with filter coffee and moderate roasted malts. Medium in body with fine carbonation. Tangy coffee finish with faint roast notes. Not too impressive. (3.2)

Aroma of soft roasted malts, deep dark caramel malts, some coffee, dark sugars, smooth, hint of toast
Taste of smooth roasted malts, milk sugars, deep caramel malts, bit of liquorice, soft dark sugars, bit of treacle, soft dark fruits, gentle, really good flavour
Palate - soft carb, medium body, smooth rich malts, good mouthfeel. Finish as main flavour, bit woody. smooth clean finish

Bottle during Leighton’s birthday celebrations. It pours very dark brown, with a thick light tan head. The nose is caramel, toffee, coffee, roasted malt and hazelnut syrup. The taste is disappointingly dominated by tangy sourness..... other than that there is a touch of roasted malt/coffee/nut but you have to really search for it. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A big disappointment as I really like a lot of the stouts these guys do.

Bottle at The Hope, Carshalton. It pours jet black, with a thick tan head. The nose is roasted malt, coffee, varnish, dark fruit, cherry and milk chocolate, The taste is roasted malt, caramel, toffee, cherry, liquorice, charcoal, smoke, tobacco, chocolate and dark fruit, with a bitter-sweet finish. Full body and moderate carbonation. Flavoursome and well balanced.
