Bottled at oh6gdx’s birthday bash at chriso’s. Dark black, small head. Aroma of dark chocolate with the slightest dash of coffee. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Cocoa flavour with very slight chilli tingle. Mid bitter finish without the burn usually ruining the drinkability in chilli beers.

Cask-condtioned at the Eldon House, Bristol 10/12/11. Ruddy brown in colour with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, berry fruits and some leafy hops. Flavour also began with some sweetness, before more fruit some nuttiness and a lingering bitter finish. Enjoyable.

Bottle at Pat’s chriso birthday tasting. Pours rich brown with medium, tan head. Mild roasted malt nose, light booze, subtle raspberries. Medium sweet flavor with rich, nice raspberry notes, mild roast, light chocolate. Medium to full in body with fine carbonation. Faintly warming finish, great chocolate and raspberry character, some cake. The raspberries are used to wonderful effect here. Really solid beer overall. (3.9)

Medium sweet flavor with nice and juicy raspberry character, chocolate, burnt sugar, brownies. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with chocolate-covered raspberries, light roasted malts, fresh raspberries, chocolate cake. Very nice integration. True raspberries here. (3.9)

Bottle at Pat’s chriso birthday tasting. Pours cloudy brown with a foamy, beige head. Faint cocoa aroma. Medium sweet flavor, some cocoa, not getting much chili. Nice dark malts. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Very, very faint chili presence in the finish, just a tingle. Some sweet chocolate, too, along with lightly roasted malts. Nice stuff. Easy to drink.

Bottle at Brouge, Richmond. It pours very dark brown, with an off-white lace. The nose is cafe latte, milk chocolate, sweet liquorice and a touch of roasted malt. The taste is milk, chocolate, caramel, cola, sweet liquorice, cafe latte and some toasted malt, with a sweet finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Solid, but a too sweet for me.

Bottle at Chriso Patriks Bday tasting. Black beer. Tan head. It has a subtle whisky aroma that builds on the swallow. Its decent. Can see that the whisky will grow as it ages.
