Bottled@my birthdaybash@Chriso. Black colour with a small brown head. Aroma is raspberries, roasted malts, some slight toffee and mild woode nntoes. Flavour is being the same, but the raspberries are dominating a bit too much.

Bottled@my birthdaybash@Chriso. Very deep amber colour, small brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, some dark fruits, mild ashes and some toasted nuttyness. Flavour is rather similar with some slight sourish wooden notes in the finish as well.

Bottled@my birthdaybash@Chriso. Deep rubyih brown colour, small brown head. Aroma is chocolate, mild roast and some mild berryish notes. Flavour is slight chili burn with chocolate and a rather big malty body behind it. Pleasant.

Bottle at home shared with Barry 29.12.11 ordered direct from Bristol Beer Factory. Pours black with a light beige head. Warming with a little alcohol noted, thick in mouth with a little orange. Oil slicks on the inside of the glass, nice roastiness, easy going smooth beer. Big, big thanks to Andrew at Bristol Beers for very generously sending far too many additional bottles out following a delivery issue caused by the courier. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov16 3.7

Cask, gravity at the Orchard Inn, Bristol 27.12.11 Dark brown in colour with a wonderful aroma of burnt toast. Fruity with a little sourness in the mouth, tangy and with middling bitterness. This is ok but I feel that it may be a little past its best. A7 A3 T5 P2 Ov11 2.8 Had this again on Cask, handpump at The Grain Barge, Bristol, 28.01.12 Pours mid brown with a white head. This is a little hoppy and a much better beer than I had when tried last month however it still comes up short when tried alongside the Southville Hop even despite the latter being sampled in bottle. The hops are a little underwhelming, lacks a bit of zap and bite but its fine. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

Cask, handpump at The Colston Yard, Bristol 27.12.11 Amber with a light haziness, good hoppy bitter with a nice backbite. Little lemony, good fruity beer. A7 A3 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4

(Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 26 Nov 2011) Dark brown colour with hints of ruby when seen through light. Brief, bubbly head. Malty, fruity nose with caramel, dried fruit, raisins and coffee. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, raisins, prunes, red berries (raspberries?) and a slightly bitter-sweet finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness and a decent bitterness. Well balanced, tasty and quite nice.

Bottle from Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Dark reddish brown pour with a thin tan head. Earthy nose, with plenty of roasted character and some fruit, chocolate and cola nut notes. Hoppage kicked into action in the taste and tangled with the roast. Slight sweetness and fairly prominent alcohol. Building bitterness towards the lengthy finish which turned more roasty then bitter again. Plenty going on here and it grew on me.
