Bottle. A deep brown pour with a thin beige head. A rich musty chocolate and wood aroma. Medium bodied and very oaky with the rich chocolate and cocoa. Kind of interesting but middle of the road 3.4-3.5

6.1% A brassy orange with a big fruity aroma that is lush aramel and hops. A med-full body that had lots of lemon, caramel and richness. A decent beer but kind of too high in ABV for summer. 3.4

Bottle from Winco. Deep copper pour, minimal off white head rings the glass. Aroma is deep, rich malts and piney hops. Taste favors more of the hops, nice slick body, caramelly malts in the background. Bitter finish.

On tap. Pours a hazy copper with a thin, off-white head that leaves spotty lacing. Sweet, pungent aroma of grapefruit, caramel malt and pine. Sweet flavour of grapefruit, tropical fruit, caramel malt, pine and grass with a dry, bitter, hop resin finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Nice, very aggressive.

Pours a muddy copper with minimal head. Aroma is rather muted, with some hop pine and spruce. Flavor is very bitter with some hop bite. Not a lot of citrus or tropical fruit. Kind of a disappointment.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy amber color with compact head. The aroma is mild, but the flavor is more potent; the body is lean, would think more in the 7% range, quite food caramel flavor, with a light spicy, peppery note from the ginger, a hint of chocolate, and a light minty touch in the final.
Wisely made, very nice winter warmer.
