Treated as an American Strong ale, the bottle was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a semi-dark red color with a fingers worth of white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Some sliding foamy lace.
The aroma had some caramel/toffee malts, toast, bubblegum, butterscotch and some faint crisp citrusy hops.
The flavor took all of that to blend mostly sweet and had a touch of bitterness at the end. Aftertaste was quaint, somewhat malty with a little bit of basement. Finish was quick, with the basement and malts.
The palate was about medium bodied with more of a sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt as projected.
Overall, not sure where Im getting the bubblegum aroma and the basement flavor in this but honestly, just super weird all around for the style. Not sure if I would go at this again.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a pale murky orange color with a half fingers worth of white foamy head that slid off at a mild pace. Some messy lace.
The aroma had some milk chocolate, rye sweetness/floral to semi-grassiness, light breadiness, some orange pulp and a little bit of cereal at the end.
The flavor was moderately sweet with some light rye floral quality trying to meld. Orange pulp and cereal sweetness slide in fairly decent. Aftertaste was moderately sweet with a slight dried floral hop quality about it. Finish was quick and dry with the rye sweetness.
The palate was almost medium bodied, seemed like it sat a touch under and had a decent sessionability about it. ABV felt appropriate. Carbonation felt fine.
Overall, its decent as a rye beer, American styled, but I dont see this as a Roggenbier as that style needs a specific yeast to be used, not sure if Newport knows that.

16oz can pours a dark orange with some cloudy, white head. Nose has pith, soap, stale, paper. Flavor has biscuit, mild bitter lemon, soap. Thin, oily finish.

Easily the best of four different beers sent to me by a beer club. I like the dark yellow liquid but there is very little head to go with it. I guess I could pour it harder. The scent is of grass and hay but rather restrained. The taste is good, surprisingly good. Certainly some hoppiness and a bit of spice. Interesting. Mouthfeel is nice, rather full considering this is not a knock-you-down hop-charged brew. A bit of bitterness at the end, very pleasant. If only there were not so many really great IPAs out there that blow past this one.

Another beer sent to me in a beer club delivery. No preconceptions on this one, I doubt it is offered in my home state. Poured into a glass mug it offers an attractive medium red body and a thin white top. It looks to be lowly carbonated. A whiff gives me a bit of malt and vanilla. It tastes decent, a little hop to go with the malt and some pecan. Very small amount of bitterness. No great shakes but I am not put off.

On tap at AJ’s Club Soda. It pours a clear golden orange color with a creamy off white head. The aroma has some noticeable squash right off the bat with a little acidity and cinnamon/nutmeg/clove. The flavor has some subtle cinnamon and nutmeg spice with a hint of squash and acidity. Nice carbonation and mouth feel. A little too much spice and earthy bitterness in the finish. Ok, though. A slightly above average pumpkin beer.

22oz bottle. So, I saw this in the store then cam home to check up the ratings. One ratings says its a decent smoked porter and another that says its infected. Well, I had to break the tie, I had no choice but to eventually buy it. Aaaaannndddd.... its infected. A mild-moderate cherry sourness and a body thinness. Seems like a light smoked porter underneath that may be nice. But yeah, its infected.

Can at home part of 4 pack from my bro. Dusty orange sudsy head. Nose is bitter citrus. Tastes of the white part of oranges, some grapefruit, herbs, little pine sol, gentle malt. Not too thin but not too flavorful. Fucking great name though.

Bomber poured into Oerbier glass. Dark brown color, not much head. The beer is definitely strong as hell. As it warms I get used to the strong beer. But it’s big beer that was popular 15 years ago. Alcohol, black malts, light autolysis, low hop.
