500ml Bottle: BBD Sep 14, poured into a UK pint sleeve at home on 8th Mar 14. Nice red to mahogany body, clear and clean: on top a fast fading beige head. Dry wood, yeast and malt nose, the malts hinting at a caramel sweetness (but failing). The taste is malt driven, with a dry hoppiness that takes away any malty molasses sweetness the aroma suggested: still malty, but not sweet at all. Some dark fruit notes and hints of brown sugar to come (which don’t actually appear). The almost un-noticed hop content keeping under the radar, but preventing the beer becoming too malt laden. Medium to ’full’ bodied: overall, not a bad pint at all.
