bottle from Dart’s Farm. Deep black colour, some beige froth. Compley nose of chocolate, caramel, roasted malts, cider and brandy. Very full-bodied, huge flavours going on: caramel, chocolate, brandy, cider, oak, and more caramel. Incredibly smooth on the palate with a lingering complex finish. A beer to savour slowly on a cold autumn evening. Sensational - should have bought more.

(Cask at GBBF, London Earl’s Court, 5 Aug 2010) Copper colour with foamy, pale beige head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, dried apricots and spices. Fruity, malty taste with orange, apricots and fresh floral hops in the finish. Rather thin body, balanced sweetness. On the thin side, but nice and tasty.

Bottle. Muddy brown with a thick head. Peaty accented chocolate aroma. Full malty palate with lots of chocolate and medium peat. Not terribly complex but big and creamy.

Cask@The Brew Wharf, London. Golden colour, small white creamy head. Aroma is fruits, wood, nectar and some earthyness. Flavour is quite much the same. Quite refreshing, even though a bit boring.

Bottle 66 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a very dark brown - close to black - with a tint of red and a small beige head. Some overripe dark fruits in the nose and quite some phenols. Medium body, low carbonation, dark overripe fruits and vanilla. Very sweet. Absolutely no bitterness. 210810
