Bottle, Corks of Cotham, Bristol. Very murky amber pour with a medium sized, lingering off white head. Nose had plenty happening and was very fragrant and hop laden, with notes of sweet malt, sweaty pits (arm not coal), bubblegum and booze. Flavour was also big, with balanced fruit and sweetness tussling with a good and heavy hop hit that was just bob on and left a cracking bitter finish.I wish there were more English IPAs like this out there. Very enjoyable stuff. Dug it.

Cask handpump at The Cask & Kitchen, Pimlico, London Sat’ 13th November 2010 Pours black with just a glint of reddiness showing through, some light bubbles around the edge. This is soft initially in the mouth, I’m getting coffee and a light fruitiness with a good tangy, hoppy edge. Tasty beer, described as a Black Ale but hoppy so unsure exactly where this should go. Btw this was also stated as 5% on the pumpclip but brewery description states 4.5%. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14

Bottle from Corks of Cotham, Bristol. Dark amber pour with a slight haze and a thin off white head. Aroma was malt heavy and sweetish as was the flavour which had notes of orchard fruit, chocolate and nuts. A bit of grassy hop showed itself towards the finish. Not bad, if a bit disappointing.

On tap at the Rake London. Aromas of citrus fruit, grapefruit and toffee malts. Big bitter hop flavour and nice malt backbone. Quite similar to Brewdog’s Hardcore.

bottle from Darts Farm (08/2010). Amber-golden, mid-sized head. Citrusy, hoppy nose. Delicious malty base with biscuits and lots of citrusy hops. Spicy, with herbal and resiny hints and a fruity touch. Superb beer.
