66 cl bottle thanks to tkrjukoff! On February 4, 2011BB 20 sep 2010, marked 4.5% ABVHazy copper color, fluffy off-white head. Grainy, orange, acidic scent. Apple, sweet taste. Medium thin mouthfeel, low grainy bitterness.

66 cl bottle thanks to tkrjukoff! On February 4, 2011Marked 7.5% ABVVery dark brown to black color, dark brown head. Sweet, licorice, malty, fruity, alcohol scent. Salty, grainy, licorice taste. Salty aftertaste, then comes a hoppy and grainy aftertaste as well after a while. Sort of thin mouthfeel, medium bitterness.

Cask-conditioned at the Portcullis, Clifton, Bristol 2/2/2011. Dark brown with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, with a touch of caramel and dry sloe fruit. Full mouth feel, with chocolate truffles, dark fruits and plenty of tannins in the finish. Excellent.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Black colour, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, bit of dark fruits. Medium bodied, good drinkable. Fairly dry and slightly bitter finish.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is light caramel malts, some hops. Flavour is caramel malts, some fruits, followed by biscuit. Disappointing.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Dark brown colour, medium beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, liquorice and dark fruits. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, fruits, nutty. Fairly bitter finish. Nice stuff.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Cloudy light golden colour, white head. Aroma is light malted and well hopped, with citrus. Flavour is malty and hoppy, lemon, grapefruit. Slightly sweet, hint of caramel. Superbly drinkable.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Dark golden colour,. white head. Aroma is fairly hoppy and bitter, with pine and citrus. Flavour has a malty backbone, well hopped, grapefruit and citrus. Later dry biscuit. Superb bitter.

(Cask at Southampton Arms, Kentish Town, London, 25 Nov 2010) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Roasted, hoppy nose with notes of pine needles, resin, cocoa, roasty malt and fresh hops. Roasted, malty taste with pine needles, citrus, ashes, dark chocolate and generous amounts of fresh, piney hops in the finish. Medium body, mainly dry. Really roasty and really hoppy. Excellent beer.
