Bottle from Corks of Cotham, Bristol. Dark amber pour with a slight haze and a thin off white head. Aroma was malt heavy and sweetish as was the flavour which had notes of orchard fruit, chocolate and nuts. A bit of grassy hop showed itself towards the finish. Not bad, if a bit disappointing.

On tap at the Rake London. Aromas of citrus fruit, grapefruit and toffee malts. Big bitter hop flavour and nice malt backbone. Quite similar to Brewdog’s Hardcore.

bottle from Darts Farm (08/2010). Amber-golden, mid-sized head. Citrusy, hoppy nose. Delicious malty base with biscuits and lots of citrusy hops. Spicy, with herbal and resiny hints and a fruity touch. Superb beer.

bottle from Darts Farm (08/2010). Nearly clear, perhaps slightly hazy chestnut-amber colour. Rather shy but very pleasant resiny-citrusy hop aroma. Full-bodied, intensive malt flavours, incredibly intensive resiny-citrusy hop flavours. Perhaps a bit more resin-flavours in the hops than in some American Double IPAs. Lingering bitter-dry hoppy finish. Spicy and very, very hoppy. The alcohol is detectable though very well disguised.

bottle from Darts Farm (08/2010). After opening the bottle a delicious and promosing aroma spreads all over the place. The beer pours a deep golden colour with a decent off-white head. Light and crisp malty base with a huge amount of aromatic and bitter hops. Lots of character in the hops, spicy and citrusy. Delicious!

(Cask at CASK Pub & Kitchen, London) This was nice, fruity and hoppy beer. No flavour or aroma was so intense that it would have hidden others. Even maltiness was clearly present and brought nice solid base for all the other flavours. I was pleased.

Cask at CPK, London on 15th October 2010. Gold with lastiong white head. Rich aroma with cheesiness. Luxurious grass hop in-mouth carrying through to a hoppy finish. Zingy mouthfeel. Excellent!

Cask at CPK, Pimlico on 15th October 2010. Deep brown with whitish head and some lacing. Malty aroma and touch of smoke; lemon citrus and burnt malts in-mouth. Citric finish and some bitterness. I liked how the flavours alternate in the mouth; engaging texture.

Dark brown, possibly muddy. Fruity aroma with apple notes, alcohol heat and some dark burnt sugars (Okinawa black). Soft body. Black sugar and raisins, with light fruitiness and a slight apple brandy note. Surprisingly mellow after that burly nose. This is a good treatment.
