Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is malt forward with a fairly nutty profile as well as some caramel and toasted bread. Light raisin and fig notes. Hints of maple and some light alcohol spice. Pours dark brown with a large, thick, pillowy, tan head that slowly recedes to a small film that lingers. No lacing and moderate length legs. Flavor is moderately sweet with some caramel, toffee, toasted bread and nuts. Some medium light maple notes. Moderate bitterness and light alcohol spice. Light raisin and fig notes. Lingering bitterness and toasted grain notes. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Some medium light astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright beer but not great. The mouthfeel is too thin for a beer this size and the finish has this lingering butter, astringent character that reminds me of nut hulls.

Growler from Craft Beer Outlet in North Philly. Opaque black color topped by a small dense creamy tan head. Complex roasted malt nose hints at Espresso, chocolate and licorice. Intense bittersweet roasted malt flavor has a viscous mouthfeel. Lots of coffee flavor mixed with intense dark roasted malt and molasses notes. Lots off booze in finish. Wow, a real big brew that meets the requirements of a Russian Imperial Stout.

750ml bottle, consumed at home. Poured a dark brown color, almost black with a dark tan head. Aroma was light maple syrup, some light nutty notes, pecan pie? Flavor was roasted malts, some light brown ale nuttiness. Alcohol is present but hidden - thought it was maybe 7-8%. Nice and warming, but put a halt to my evening pretty early.

12 oz bottle, courtesy of Eugene. Thanks! A unique brownish orange color pour with the thinnest possible active fizz head. Aroma is a mix of sweet berry fruit, and spices. Flavor is very strange. Cinnamon apple sauce like spice, sweet berry, honey. Floral, but doesn’t grab my attention right away. Gotta look for it a little. Sweet and spicy both. I like that. Cool, and decently refreshing. Strange as hell, but I didn’t have any issues with it.

Bottle from Giant. Kind of flat pour, dull and lifeless. Aroma is sweet, molasses, minor hint s of roast grains. taste carries forward with the sweetness, with some earthy, dirty flavors, recalling a scotch ale. Definite peat flavors, root beer. Where is the porter? Not getting what they were trying for....
