Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. A hazy, slightly pale yellow coloured ale with a small creamy head. Quite smooth in its texture it has a light fruitiness and a slightly thin taste. More of a wheat ale, than a beer as the name might suggest. Some lemon in its nose.

Almost opaque dark amber - brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is airy and dry with modest fine carbonation. Dry dark malts. The juniper is slightly spicy and imparts a modest minty vibe which mixes with mild dark chocolate in the malts makes for a slight ’After Eight’ vibe. Mild but spicy floralness. Orange is more noticeable on the nose, presenting as marmalade, less so in the flavour. Fairly dry finish. It’s an interesting beer but the flavours rub up against one another a fair bit giving an overall impression of oddness! And unusually, I could detect no Sorachi.

Cask @ Calans, Hebden Bridge. Golden with a small creamy head. Hopped with a very light fruitiness. Could pass as a session ale with the citrus fruit you expect to taste most noticeable in its aftertaste.

Tried at the Three Horseshoes, Waddington. Golden colour with an off white head. Light hoppy aroma. The taste has a decent bitter finish.

Hazy amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and crispy. Thin malts, a little sweetness. Marmalade and fresh orange peel - medium bitter. Light semi dry finish. Simple stuff but hoppy enough to satisfy.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Golden with a creamy head. Has a fairly balanced malt and hop, with the latter more prevalent and a light tropical fruitiness in its flavour. It’s crisp with a smooth texture.

4.2 Cask at the cask & barrel. Pours clear pale gold, thick white head. Aromas of light butter, faint tropical fruit. Taste is biscuity. Sweet finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 6/5/2015. Copper coloured with a frothy, off-white, head. Sweetish, earthy malts, a touch of citrus fruits and moderately bitter finish. Good.

1st May 2015: hand-pulled half-pint at the Crown Inn, Oakengates. Light amber with a weak white head on my pour. Slight fruitiness in the aroma, malty base to the nose and taste with the hops giving a semi-bitter finish: average blend in my opinion, with subtle more than bold or powerful flavours.
