Bottle from Wine & Beer Direct, Halifax. Darker amber with next to no head. It has a sweetness with a taste that gives the impression it is stronger than it is, but it’s not too flavoursome or appealing.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Clear golden with a creamy head. It’s light with its three stated fruits, but surprisingly low in citrus character given what these are.

Pendle Beer Festival 2016. Golden-amber in colour. Hoppy with a malty base. No real flavours.

Lunchtime pint (hand-pulled) in The Lord Nelson, Oakham on 16th March 2016. Clear golden pour with a lasting white crown on top. Caramel sweetness from the start with a good dose of fruitiness in the mash tun from the hops. I liked it, my sweet tooth really taking to the brew, sadly I was driving, so only the one pint.

Cask at the Nags Head, Reading. Pale amber with a thin white head; fresh green hop aroma; an odd but pleasant bitter herbal taste that is very dry, and reminds me of the mustard coloured Old English Spangles; then a lingering dry finish with a touch of damp bracken. Not quite what I’d expect from an APA, as the hops seem solidly English, not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Cask @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Golden with thin head. Has a fairly heavy berry-fruitiness throughout its character, although not overly sweet.

Cask @ Calans, Hebden Bridge. Clear pale golden with a thin head. Lightly hoppy with a medium malty bitterness.

Cask @ Drink? Hebden Bridge. Extremely dark red with a thick creamy-frothy head. The ginger is dominant, but there’s certainly a coffee infusion, especially in its nose, that produces a very mild chocolate-orange.
