Description
Founded in 2006 in a renovated farm building which overlooks Beeston church and the tranquil valley beyond. which provides a perfect setting to craft our fine beers.

Sustainability and locality is at the heart of what we do. Our water comes from deep in the Norfolk chalk from our private supply beneath the brewery, and is perfect for brewing real ale.

Our main ingredient, Maris Otter malting barley is grown locally at Branthill Farm on the Holkham Estate. This is some of he finest malting barley on the planet.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - golden with big floaters. Nose - lemon, grapefruit and pith. Taste - lemon pith and lemon barley water. Palate - light bodied and creamy. Dry finish. Overall - decent.

Cask @ Chelmsford Beer Festival. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are fruits, nuts, caramel, toasted malt and hops. Nice.

Cask @ Chelmsford Beer & Cider Festival. Clear brown with a white head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and roasted moderate bitter finish. 150218

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours almost black with a red tint and a small short lasting beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruit, nut, chocolate and hint of liquorice. Medium sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Medium body, oily and slightly watery texture, with average carbonation.

From cask at the 26th East Anglian Beer & Cider festival, Bury St Edmunds. Pours mid brown with a bubbly cream coloured head. Aroma of nut, light fruit, malt, chocolate, and slight stewed veg. Light sweetness, medium bitterness. Light to medium body, slight watery texture, soft carbonation. Finish is very dry, fruity and nutty.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - dark brown to black with red chinks. Nice off white head. Nose - creamy chocolate and toffee. Taste - burnt malt and sugar. Burnt toast. Palate - close to medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Overall - the taste didn’t match the nose bit good.
