Continuing with Martin House's record of great labels, Shell Shock has a fine label. I like imperial stouts and the ingredients for this one, really attractive. A 16 oz can that I got at Mr. T's on the east side of Midland several weeks ago, the time is now. My ABGB snifter catches the pour. Black as it can be for the body followed by a respectable top of dark tan foam. The nose is nirvana, enough said. And the drink, well, a bit sweet for my tastes, but still all right, a pastry stout after all. Toffee, vanilla, milk chocolate, grain, hard candy and a bit of earth. Nice sensation. Better than most imperial stouts but if they could dial back the sweetness somewhat...

12 oz. can from HEB in San Antonio, TX. Pours a semi-clear orange-bronze color with an off-white head and good retention. Fair lacing. Yes, it smells like a sweet sugar cookie. As advertised, strong, very sweet flavors of vanilla and sugar, followed by a boozy finish, like a light whiskey. The 10.0% ABV is very noticeable, but not as strong as I expected. Overall it kinda tastes like sweet maple syrup. Medium body. Slick, slippery mouthfeel. Low carbonation and low bitterness. Flavor mission accomplished, but too sweet and strong to have again.

Can, kindly donated by radimd, many thanks man. Golden color eith medium white head. Aroma of peach, tons of peach, light malt, no hops. Taste is very peachy, in fact nothing more can be recognizable. Good, refreshing, easy drinkable summer drink.

This 12 oz can was located at Mr. T's, the only real craft beer shop locally. I'll be using my New Belgium globe glass for this tasting, so on we go. The body is a semi-transparent yellow-going-to-gold with a continuing top of fully white foam. And the scent is a positive, a bit of tropical fruit, crackers and grain. The taste goes a decided, different direction. Juice to a limited degree, biscuits, varnish, malt, hops and some bitterness to speak of. I find the sensation to be thinner than I like. Just not really my thing.

12 oz. can from Texas Cheer Liquor. Pours a pitch black color with a large dark tan head and great retention. Spotty lacing. Solid peanut butter and chocolate aroma. The flavor follows the nose, but the dark chocolate flavor is more dominant than the peanut butter. A flavored stout that's repeatable. A good mix of sweet and bitter. Medium body and low carbonation. Dark chocolate bitterness. The 6.5% ABV is nicely hidden. Good beer.

12 oz. can from HEB in San Antonio, TX. Pours a very dark brown color with a beige head and good retention. Spotty lacing. Yes, it smells just like a chocolate cookie. The flavor adds more stout characteristics to go with the chocolate cookie notes. Some dark roast, with a little treacle and alcohol in the finish. Sweet, but not decadent. Medium, slick body. Low carbonation. Some dark chocolate bitterness. I'm looking forward to mixing it with their Cream.

A lightly hazed blonde ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet mix of pickle juice, light acidic notes. In mouth, sweet fruity pickle juice with salt.

Maybe my favorite golden stout just cause it's a dang flavorful golden stout but damn is it damn sweet. The whiskey and the golden stout style and the peanut butter really double triple up the sweetness. Ok 8 oz in it's a bit much 😅

12 oz. can from HEB in San Antonio, TX. Pours a cloudy gold color with a small white head and fair retention. Zero lacing. Strong, sugary vanilla cream aroma. Sweet vanilla cream soda flavor with a long, warming finish. Very low carbonation, almost flat. Smooth and slick mouthfeel. Not grainy, unlike most cream ales. No bitterness. I wouldn't want to drink it often, but it's a nice, sweet, gimmicky dessert beer.

Can from RadimD, many thanks man. Hazy golden color ith white head. Aroma of pickles, no surprise. Taste, is fairly sour with pickles, dill, salt. Very poweful beer.
