Description
We produce both cask and keg beer to the highest standards. From traditional best bitters, fermented in our open topped vessels, to hoppy IPA's fermented in our conical vessels, we aim to achieve the highest standards possible. We run a small lab in the brewery to ensure our beer is fermented cleanly, and is of the same high standard every time it comes to you. Our lab information is available to all our customers, from forced fermentation results and fining levels in cask beer to carbonation levels and yeast counts in keg beers. The Taproom at our brewery, located just off Perry Street, is designed to invite the community in Gravesend and beyond to come and see what we're up to on a regular basis, and see how we create and package our beer. The whole team share a passion for good beer, well cared for and well served. It is the aim of Iron Pier to provide great beer in the best condition we can.

Cask at The Waterloo Tap, 28/06/23. Clear golden blonde with a decent lasting white head, full glass lacing ensues. Nose is melon, orange zest, hint of bubblegum, peach, soft malts. Taste comprises tangerine, grass, lychee, melon, papaya, light bread dough, soft malts. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close splashed with light juicy hop bitterness. Solid cask pale.

Cask at the golden eagle Lincoln. Light hazed golden beer with a white head. Aroma and taste are light citrus and slight sweet. Thin body.

Cask at the Park Tavern, Eltham. Reddish amber pour with a beige head. Nose is toffee, dried fruit, caramel, sultanas. Malty sweet flavours - creamy coffee, toffee, caramel. Creamy sweet finish. Very nice.

Cask at Waterloo Tap. Aroma is vaguely grainy, malty. Clear amber. Thin creamy white head. Tangy berries amd citrus sourness. Smooth malty streak. Light caramel. Medium bodied. Slick. Sticky. Soft carbonation. Long finish. Hitting the spot on a hot day.

1/6/2023. Cask at the 36th Colchester Real Ale & Cider Festival. Pours clear golden amber with a small bubbly just off-white head. Aroma of citrus, orange, caramel, malt, flowers, honey, dark fruit edge. Medium sweetness and moderate developing bitterness. Moderate body, slightly oily, average to soft carbonation. Nice bittersweet finish. Pretty decent.

Aroma is malty, toffee, biscuit, orange, citrus, light spicy and nutty notes. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, slightly creamy, soft carbonation. Robust flavoursome best.

Aroma of roasted malt, cocoa, vanilla, dark chocolate, liquorice, meaty edge. Moderate sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Nice roasty finish. Good.
