750ml swing top bottle. Baker and Larners of Holt, Norfolk. Soft haze on a copper colour. Slim dense lasting lacing just off white swede. As per these large format Lacons bevs this is in glorious nick. Nose has light toffee malt and hedgerow berry. Bit of ripe citrus. Taste is light dry and citrus floral bitter. Drinks slick and easy for the 7%. Floral herbal citrus bitterness to finish. Great stuff.

Can picked up at the brewery. Hazy slightly mucky gold. Decent foam. Nose has melon skin. Oats. Some light vegetal notes. Taste is dry and light bitter. Very thin and watery. No body here whatsoever. Dry watery finish. Crap.

Bottle. Birthday present from Totnes. The person not the place. Surely this is Saltaire Triple Chocolate with a bit of new branding? Anyway it doesn’t matter because it’s dogshit. Horrible artificial tasting tripe that went down the sink.

Can. Comptoir Belge. Pretty muddy dark brown. Quite a scummy beige foam. It’s no looker. Nose has coffee malts. Some well done crusty brown bread. Some light earthy semi citrusy hop. Taste is a little earthy and dry before a decent hit of hoppy bitterness. Drinks pretty well overall. Bitter finish errs toward CDA territory. Ok. Tastes better than it smells or looks.

Bottle. Mitchell’s Wines. Clear runny honey gold. Very sturdy white foam. Nose has malts on the sweeter side. Bit of cereal. Some damp hay. Hops come across grassy leafy and softly herbal. Good drinkability with nice bitterness and some background sweetness. Turns more bitter on the finish. Nice Helles.

Can via the online shop. Gusher! Pours gloopy. Sits a hazed glowing gold. Solid white foam. Looks well after mopping what escaped. Nose has fruity juicy peachy hop. Light vanilla oak. Whiff of something like bourbon. Taste is dry, lightly tart and citrusy bitter. Feels gloopy on the palate. Juicy finish. There’s a stellar beer in here but it’s not there yet.

Can via the online shop. Slightly gloppy pour sits hazed glowing gold with a slim dense lasting white foam. Looks good once it’s settled in. Chardonnay barrels lifting heavy here. Loads of white grape and light oak. Juicy citrus. Has a nice zing. Taste is dry, tart juicy fruity and light bitter. Super easy drinking overall. Juicy slightly tart fruity finish. Good gear.
