Can. RAD Beer online. Clear coppery amber. Solid lasting lacing pale cream foam. Looks boss. Curious brew this. Nose has sweet brioche and oddly, some green apple and a kind of gooseberry thing going. Taste is super sweet with an earthy leafy bitterness. Drinks fine overall despite being all over the shop. Light bitter finish. Weird. Like no other Bock I’ve ever had and not in a good way.

Tap. Rutland Arms Sheffield. Light haze on a pale gold. Kernel swede. Pale dry grain and orange peel orange pith hop. Whiff of pine needle. Light bitterness. Drinks easy. Light bitter finish.

Cask. Sheffield Tap. Clear as a bell gold. Sparkler induced creamy solid lasting white foam. Going to have to be a 10. Nose has bready yeasty grain. Leafy hop with some preserved lemon notes. On the bitter side of the spectrum. Moderate grainy sweetness. Sinks very easy. Bitter finish. Fresh bitter cask beer in perfect nick.

Nah. Most northerly Adnams shop is in Holkham. Soft haze on an orange gold. Slim lasting white foam. All standard equipment here. Yeasty estery malty spicy hop filled nose. Taste pans out the same. Drinks easy and is flawless, as you’d expect. Solid gear overall. Would session.

Can. Mitchell’s Wines. Clear very dark brown. Decent tan foam. Nose has light roast malt and light roast coffee. Some bitter chocolate. Hint of vanilla. So everything present and correct then. Taste is light sweet with decent roasted malt vinous bitterness. Fairly light bodied and quite drying. Light to moderate bitter finish. Sets off great but the promised richness and warmth was never happening. Still smashed it down mind you so there is that. Good to see another Sheffield brewer doing solid work.

Bottle. Drove Orchards probably. Soft haze on a pale amber. Very decent white foam buoyed no doubt by the quite high carbonation here. Nose has vague maltiness. Even more vague ginger and pretty much nonexistent hops. Taste pretty much follows suit. Quite fizzy. Dry thin finish. I really need to stop bringing back a shit load of shit every time I visit Norfolk. Well obviously I won’t. But I ought.

Bottle via the online shop. Hazed gingery gold. Slim white foam. Nose is Rose’s Lime cordial. Sherbet. Whiff of Lockets sweets, too. Very sweet shop. Taste is citrusy tart dry and a tad sweet. Very effervescent on the palate. Slight acidity. Juicy lime filled fruity tart finish. Nicely novel and easy drinking.
