Bottled
Ruby red, creamy cappuchino head. Strong flowery hoppy nose. Strong flowery hoppy - trefoil flavors. Sticking alcohol. Long bitter aftertaste. Some sweetness is buried under the strong alcoholic palate.

Draught, Archer Ale House, Bellingham

Copper-amber colour with a caramel-tinged foam. Aroma shows caramel and toast, plus earthy hops (seems like a blend including EKG). Earthy, slightly pithy bitterness with slight cocoa character. A well-balanced ESB of an IPA.

Bottled. Not as flavorful as the better known SN, IMHO. Very pale pour. Just a touch of hops (but at least there are hops). Not much else to write home about.

I’ve had the bottle version many many times and hadn’t really tried to differentiate the bottle and draft versions. Same medium yellow color, but the aroma is a bit less assertive, the palate a bit smoother and sweeter and somewhat lacking in the slightly bitter finish of the bottle version. The bottle version remains a standby, a better version IMO, and portable.

Pour is a deep black with no head. Aroma is chocolate malts with a roasty backbone. Flavor is a very bitter coffee with a touch of hops. Bitterness stands out but in a good way. A nice effort by a good brewer.

Pour is a dark black with no head. Aroma is of dark chocolate malts with a bit of hops in there. Flavor is lots of roastedness going on. Malts aplenty with the right amount of hops. The only downfall is that there is not much body to this as it is kind of watery in the end. Still a decent attempt and another good showing by Sierra Nevada.

A yellow beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty - and so is the flavor - a boring beer.
