Bottled. Clear, golden/copper colored ale with no Co2 and an off-white head. Quite hoppy, with some sweetness, alcohol and caramel in the aroma. The flavor has lots of piney and fruity hops, with some alcohol and a bit too much sweetness. Full, sweet body and a long hop-bitter finish. Maybe a bit on the sweet side. (060524)

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a clear, amber golden with an off-white head. Hoppy aroma. Medium body with weak notes of caramel. A whiff of pineapple perhaps? Some aroma hops, but I don’t really find the hops clean, crisp or citrusy. Extremely dry, hoppy finish. 110606

Bottle 2005 version picked up at Sainsburys Kidlington 09-06-06. Quite suprised to see this still kicking about in Sainsburys amongst all of the more usual bitters and summer ale varieties now out. Pours a nice orangey colour and has a great spicey aroma, but it was the taste that really did it for me a really bitter sweet taste like when you make your own toffee and have left it too long the sugars changing in it and it devolps that bitterness about it, anyway that come over really heavily in this beer and was absolutely fab’ almost chewy in taste quite an interesting beer. I have had this before but forgotten how good it was.

Nice amber orange color with an ample tan head. Aroma is mild citrus and hops, taste is a nice balance of hops, malt, citrus, and bitters. I know its the same, but I prefer draft to bottle for this IPA any day.

Bottle 0,355l. Coal black. Creamy head. Modest in aroma, taste and aftertaste - but all the ingredients are here: Roastedness, cocoa, chocolate and bitterness. Well balanced.

Draft. Less hoppy and less body than the bottled version from a side-by-side comparison. Aroma of citrus and floral hops. Flavor more floral with some caramel backing. Easy to drink, but not as interesting as the bottled.
