Clear amber body that holds up a decent off-white head. Somewhat weak hop aroma. Slightly bitter flavor, enough malt sweetness to add some balance. Overall it’s just another IPA and a real disappointment considering the same brewery makes a fine Pale Ale, Harvest Ale and Celebration Ale.

2006. Poured into a snifter with wafting bubblegum. Deep mahogany with no head or apparent carbonation. Very nice balance -- at first sweet, but quickly joined by a hop finish that stays for a long time. None of the bubblegum notes come through in the flavor -- quite nice.

bottle - Pours near black in color, moderate, long lasting head with nice lacing. This beer looks great, though the aroma is kind of weak. Taste is of roasted malt nicely balanced with a hoppy finish. Mouthfeel is a little too thin, but has a fine, pleasantly light carbonation. Overall this is a solid beer. Have it with a good steak like I just did.
