6th DRG. Cloudy copper color. Aroma of cascade hops, some chocolate. Fruity taste, complex, intense, keeps changing. Now some salty notes, bit chocolat again. Very bitter aftertaste. Very nice, but hard to keep on drinking.

Bottle. Got hit with a real lemon grass perfume as soon as I poured this. Nice golden colour with a slight haze. A very refreshing hoppy lager that was enjoyable even on a winters evening.

Pours a light amber into a shaker. Nice conglomerate head with good staying power. -- lacing as it recedes. Slightly sour aroma. Bitter up front with a flat, long-lasting malty finish -- slightly sweet aftertaste.

2006 bottle. Dark reddish amber color with 1/2\" frothy tan head. Aroma is complex, sweet fruit, anise, grapefruit and honey. Flavor is well balanced, ending with an alcoholic warmth that caps off each sip nicely. The only minor complaints are that the malt flavor overwhelms some of the underlying flavors at times and the mouthfeel is a little thin. Other than that, this is one of the top barleywines I’ve tried. Can’t wait till 2007...

Bottle. Better porter than I would have thought from such a "mainstream" micro. I enjoyed this. coffee aroma, with a hit of roasted flavor. Tasted a lot like the stout from this company.

Floral and fruity aroma with notably present hops. Smells slightly sweet with a hint of malt in the background. Color is a beautiful light copper with a pretty substantial frothy head. Flavor is sweeter than I expected and fairly crisp and light. Hops definitely are the dominant feature, but this is a pretty interesting addition to SN’s lineup. I would say that it fails in some ways as an IPA: it is very light and crisp, and the hops, while they are the central feature, are quite different from most IPA’s that I really enjoy. I’d probably have enjoyed this one more if they had just billed it as a Pale or something and didn’t get my hopes up. Reminds me a lot of Schlafly’s American Pale Ale and doesn’t hold a candle to SN’s Celebration Ale.

Pour is orange with a white head. Aroma is not that hoppy. I was almost shocked to find the aroma is very weak and almost hard to find. Flavor is not much better. Weak hops and malts make up this one. Maybe i got a bad bottle as this is below average and not in the same catagory with the other Sierra Neveda beers.

Poures thick with a nice amber/brown color with nearly zero head. Has a strong aroma of caramel and alcohol along with hops and sweet malts. Flavor is sweet with plenty of hops bit to it. Has some malt and alcohol in the finish. A really good barley wine.
