Poured with a thin but long lasting head with some nice lacing. Hoppy aroma and taste, the characteristic pale ale bitterness is nicely balanced with a dry finish. Sierra Nevada is always a good choice and one of the better widely available brews.

Dark copper pour with off-white head. Citrus hop aroma dominates the nose though notes of caramel and alcohol are detectable. The taste is bitter from start to finish. Notes of grapefruit and alcohol with a bit of sweet malt in the background. The medium body is slightly sticky. Long, bitter finish.

Bottle. Thick long lasting head. Quite good. Honey colored. Rich flavor, with a slight berry and honey flavor, quite spicy. Definitely a IPA. I recently (Jan 2007) had a bottle from 2001. Very smooth, mellow, poured still with a white head, less carbonation, still a very pine and citrus flavor.

Bottle from Old Town. Hazy orange pour with a big soapy tan head. Nice lacing. Aromas of malt, whole-grain bread, caramel, pine and resin. Well-balanced malt and hops. Medium-bodied with nice carbonation. Slightly sticky mouthfeel with a nice bitter finish. More good stuff from Sierra Nevada.

Reddish brown in colour. White head that disappears quickly. Lots of hops in the aroma and some maltiness in the background. Taste is malty with hints of caramel, then you get the bittersweet hoppiness. That i like alot.

Bottle (Thanks to FlacoAlto): Poured a clear golden color lager with a medium creamy white head with great retention. Aroma of medium sweet floral malt is quite enjoyable. Taste is very refreshing with a nice dose of sweet malt with some crisp floral hops. Body is a bit too thin to make this truly special but still very enjoyable.

Draught. Dark copper colour, small creamy white head. Slightly watery and slightly hoppy flavour. Quite nice, but could have more character. 5 3 6 3 14

Cask at GBBF08. Very nice grassy hop aroma. Clear copper colour, small frothy head. The flavour is also nicely hoppy, grassy and slightly caramelly with a little hop bite in the finish. 8 3 7 3 16

Small, white, coarse head; orange body with some haziness. Aroma is lovely citrusy hops. Taste is quite bitter, and dominated by the same citrusy hops. Finish is quite dry, and the bitterness lingers in the mouth. A decent pale ale; the hops are the best part, and in fact the only one I can make out.
