Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. was founded in 1979, with founders Ken Grossman and Paul Camusi expanding their homebrewing hobby into a brewery. Sierra Nevada is considered one of the earliest and most influential breweries which spawned the craft beer movement of the 1980s-90s.

Draft. Deep copper color with a small off-white head. Nutty malt aroma. Nutty malt flavor with some roastiness and spicey hops. Easy drinking with lingering malts. Not as ’clean’ as many other octoberfests.

[At Stockholm Beer Festival] A red-brown beer with a huge light brown head. The aroma is sweet with lots of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty and quite hoppy with notes of straw.

[At Stockholm Beer Festival 2005] A clear yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty and wheaty - and so is the flavor - leading to a dry end. The banana is very well hidden.

[At Stockholm Beer Festival 2005] An amber beer with an orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of straw and hops - without being extreme. The flavor is very sweet with notes of caramel and straw. The mouthfeel is slightly sticky.

On tap at Summits, Sandy Springs GA. Deep amber color with an off-white head. Good hop aroma dominates. The flavor is nicely bitter overall with a strong underlying malt base. This is well worth seeking out if you like a well balanced IPA.

Nice drink. It has a Malty and hoppy taste. Drink ends with a smooth finish. A beer everyone should try.

[At Stockholm Beer Festival 2005] An orange beer with a huge light brown head. The aroma is sweet and slightly hoppy as well as slightly caramelic. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and very hoppy, giving it a dry end.

(2004 Bottle) Amber coloured with a nice head. Hop and apricot aroma. Hop and raisin flavour. Excellent.
