Description
The Brooklyn Brewery started with a dream to return brewing to Brooklyn, once a powerhouse of American beer production. Today our beers travel to more than half the United States and over thirty countries. Our James Beard Award-winning Brewmaster Garrett Oliver and his team brew everything from classic styles to bold experiments and collaborate with brewers, innovators and artists from around the globe. We’ve met wonderful people in remarkable places, and we can’t wait to show everyone what’s next.

In 2016, Brooklyn Brewery sold 24.5 percent to Kirin, Japan’s second-biggest brewer. The partnership allowed Brooklyn Brewery to use Kirin’s distribution arm to sell in Japan and Brazil.

Draught pint at Redbones on 11/13/05. Light chill haze to the beige-auburn-milk chocolate colored body, with a fair amount of greyish-beige head. Head has low retention, creating no lacing. Aroma has a touch of campfire, dry and lightly roasty. No malt sweetness found in the nose. Even after warming, the nose is faint and unexpressive. The flavor begins with a light smokiness. Dry and lightly bitter, with some touches of sourness. Nutty/grainy malts notes are dry, underrepresented. Becomes watery after a few sips and then just continues to grow even more so. Prickly carbonation, very little malt sweetness. Light acids, papery astringency and bland graininess all watered down heavily. Very little beer character, for that matter. Just a lonely smoke flavor hanging around by the edge of the water. No alcohol or hop apparency. Couldnt drink more than a few sips.

Bottle. Aroma of pumpkin pie - cinnamon, cloves, pumpkin. Reddish brown color with small head. Very lightly sweet pumpkin flavor but with strong cloves. Gives you what it says - nice without being cloying.

Bottle. An orange juice, spice and cream aroma. Orange brown color - slightly cloudy with little head. Sour orange and light malt flavor - mild hops finish. Body on the weak side. Different - a bit too fruity for an ale for me.

Bottled. Spicy aroma. A little too much cloves-like aroma. Golden beer with a white head. Reminds me of christmas in both aroma and flavor, but is too light. A fine beer for the late fall-season. (051029)

On tap at Fynske Øldage, Odense, Denmark. Hazy golden-yellow with a very dense head and fine lacings. Aroma of citrus, grain, coriander, and yeast. Much the same in flavor. Refreshing beer. Reminded me more of a wit than of a saison. (051029)

On tap at Fynske Øldage, Odense, Denmark. Served by the brewmaster himself. Clear golden beer with a dense offwhite head. Nice lacings. Aroma of american hops, citric and fruity. Full bodied taste of citrus, grapefruit with hops and pine in the background. Dry, hopbitter finish. Rating: 8-4-8-4-18-4.2. 051029

On tap at KØ-10. a clear, golden beer topped by a dense, off-white head. Lots of citrus and resins on the nose, some alcohol, and a biscuity maltyness in the back. The flavor has a biscuity background, with citrusy, piney bitterness up front. Some alcohol warmth too, full-bodied and dry. Lasting finish with some sweetness, but it’s mostly hoppy flavors. A really lovely DIPA. 100507

Bottle. Aroma has a hint of spice, perhaps cinnamon. Greyish copper colour. Looks flat. Sourish bitterness. Not interesting. 6 2 4 3 8

Draught. Subtle spicy aroma. Hazy amber copper colour. Small off-white head. The flavour has a subtle spicy note as well. Sourish hint that actually balances off the spiciness a bit. 5 3 5 3 11
