This tastes almost identical to their brooklyner weiss - lots of lemon and coriander in the aroma and flavor - cloudy golden appearance - wheat comes through in the finish - a decent wit.

[Vintage 2001 sampled November 12, 2003] The aroma is sweet malty with notes of alcohol, and apples. A fantastic aroma. The color is dark amber and it has a beutiful though disappearing head. The flavor is slightly fruity and sweet malty in the beginning with good notes of slightly sour apples, bananas, and burnt caramel. In the middle a slight but undistingable alcohol runs over the tongue. It starts out gently but explodes in a cascade of flavor impressions in the end. A beer doesn't get much better than this. Great thanks to Garret Oliver for bringing this one to Denmark.

On draught at Winking Lizard (w/ a logo glass!). Dark mahogany color with a thin beige head. Thin and slow lacing. The aroma is roasty and malty. Medium body with a nice smooth malt and caramel flavor. There is a mildy nutty aftertaste with a bit of hops thrown in. All in all this is a smooth and drinkable Brown.

Brooklyn brewed this all organic beer, supposedly to celebrate the fact that their brewery is now the first building in NYC to be 100% wind-powered - what better way to celebrate than with a great porter like this? - heavy aroma of cocoa and coffee - very roasty flavor, quite dry, almost bitter, no sweetness that I can really detect, unlike some of the other great porters I've had - bit of a dry finish, leaving a chocolate flavor lingering on the tongue - good stuff.

Slightly biscuity - slight spice and a tiny bit of pumpkin - thin bodied, watery finish - decent flavor, but lacking in most other respects.

Pours a rich dark caramel brown, with a thin, creamy, lacing off-white head. Aroma is nutty with some chocolate and hops notes. Very rich, dry flavor: nuts, chocolate, caramel bread, and a hint of dark fruits at the end of the sip. Medium hops. A very nice brown ale.

Clear golden colour with a large dense white head. This is a Pils by appearance! Definate floral hop characteristic in the aroma with a light maltiness and a subtle sweetness. This one smells more like a Helles than a Pils. Light-Bodied; Strong malty flavour then masked by the hops. A decent amount of flavour, especially for the style. Aftertaste is more bland only showing a bit of each of the hops and malt. Overall, a good pilsner, no complaints, just not THAT special. I bought this twelve ounce bottle at Beers of the World in Rochester, New York.

Dark amber colour with a VERY dense off-white head. Nice powerful hoppy aroma. Great balance in the aroma with malt as well. Some alcohol in the scent. Medium to Light-Bodied; Slighly acidic taste with subtle malt and noticeable hops. Aftertaste bittered from the hops and left flavourful. Overall, a very good beer-better than I had expected and definately reccomended! I bought this twelve ounce bottle at Beers of the World and sampled it on 16-October-2003.

Bottled. Amber coloured. Sweet and resiny. Hard and clean with some citrus. One dimensional with overly resiny bitter finish. A well lacquered bottle of nothing. Was it really this empty some years ago?

(draught) Very pale yellow; white-yellow head. Flowery nose, spicy (not sure which), honey. Delicate spicy, and again, flowery taste. Some citrus-like acidity. No hops. Wheat character in the background. Light to medium bodied, quite refreshing. This might not be a Saison in my idea, it is a very nice and delicate beer all the same. If Garrett would only use some ironladen liquor...
