Description
During August 2006 Jarrow BrewPub set up a second brewpub, using a 12½BBL plant. This was opened at The Maltings Brewery Tap & Westoe Brewhouse, 9 Claypath Lane, South Shields NE33 4PG. Brewing ceased at The Maltings when the brewery relocated to its new location in Summer 2014. The brewery closed in Summer 2015.

Cask (Isis, Sunderland) - Golden in colour. Lemon, grapefruit and biscuity malt in the aroma. Nicely balanced taste with grapefruit, lemon and a crisp bitterness featuring in the finish.

Cask (Isis, Sunderland) - Dark brown with red tinges. Roasted malt, cocoa and dried fruit in the aroma. Nicely balanced taste with notes of raisins, caramel, cocoa and roasted malt.

Cask (Isis, Sunderland) - Dark brown with red tinges. Cocoa, coffee and dried fruit in the aroma. Roasted malty taste with coffee and chocolate coated almonds.

Cask (handpump) @ Market Porter, 9 Stoney Street, Southwark, London, Greater London, England SE1 9AA.Clear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, moderate hoppy, citrus, grass, fruity, orange - citrus. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, fruity, hoppy, fruity hops. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20130327]

Cask @ Puzzle Hall Inn, Sowerby Bridge. Very dark red (almost brown looking) with a creamy head. Has a small sweet aroma with some very light citric notes in its taste.

Draft at GBBF 2013, Day 3 - London. Pours clear yellow with a frothy white head. Light lemony citrus aroma with biscuity pale malts. Light-medium sweet flavor with pale bread, lemon. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderate sweetness in the finish with juicy lemon, more pale bread, faint hay and citrus rind. Exceptional.

Cask at the Watford Beer Festival 2013. Clear a dark ruby with a thin off-white head. Aroma of port, berries and hay. Dark fruit flavours with some brown sugar and pine needles. Finish was molasses, bitter resin and some toasted malt.

Cask at the Watford Beer Festival 2013. Poured a hazy gold with a small, rocky white head. Aroma of grassy hop, pineapple and a hint of wet dog. Wet grass flavour with pear drops and lemon zest. Finish was stale malts, biscuit and white grapes.

On tap at Haymarket. Appearance - golden with a slight haze snd a decent head. Nose - malty with a slight hint of lemon but definite honey things. Taste - as with nose. Palate - not clean on the finish but relatively balanced apart from that. Overall - solid
