Smell is a little off. Hasome gunk in the bottom that creates a swirling dizzy pour. Above average tartness for a wit. Nice white beer appearence. Taste has some funk but not as much as other indigos I’ve tasted. Does not really seem to be more than 5%, hides alky well, seems more like 4%. Citrus sizzly feel to this stuff, like a watered down lemon er sumthin. Interesting brew almost belgian in nature, but with an an eastern american twist. No real bitterness on the finsh. becomes friendly during the session. Good, but not as good as some of those other II beers.

Dark brown body with little to no head. Smoky, rotted fruit aroma. The flavor starts sweet with a sour finish. This is missing something that I find in true Flemish Sours. Tastes like an infected beer that they tried to pass off as a Sour.

Bottle. Body is a slightly hazy orange and supports a fairly thin head of white bubbles and foam. Citrus and tropical fruit are present in the nose, as is an apple juice/caramel sweetness and a faint spice presence (Belgian yeast?). Flavor is very nice, but I’m not seeing much of a connection to an IPA, even a Belgian one. Lots of spices up front and then again in the finish... kind of a peppery clove presence or something like that. In the middle there is a pretty good mash-up of fruit and sugars... oranges, peaches, pears, etc. This is pretty exciting on another level as well... this is the fourth (?) Indigo Imp beer that I’ve tried and all of the previous samples left me with serious questions about whether this fledgling brewery was simply figuring out how to do QC for their bottling line or just a very bad brewery... I’m hoping that this is a sign of things to come and will go back and try some of the previous beers that were less than pleasant.

Bottle. Poured brown with a red hue and minimal head. Aroma had notes of roasted malts, caramel and coffee. No signs of sour on the nose. The flavor how ever begins sour and tart with a bit of a coffee/roasted malt finish. But it was a bit thin. Different for sure.

Limited Release Sour bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with minimal head over a deep brown body. Aroma is vinous, currants, raisins, coconut. Taste is sour, acetic, vinous, cherries and cassis. Touch of chocolate. Light bubbles. Not great.

First impression of smell when I pop the lid of this 12 oz bottle is that it comes across like a funky old leather shoe. There was barely any pressure in the bottle under the lid too. No vivble CO2 in the brew when poured into the glass. Black as old shovelhead oil. Charcoal and burned wood come thru to the olfactory in the glass. Initial taste isw forwrd with sour and tart notes. Weirdly interesting, like a wreck I cannot stop sipping this stuff. Yummy and sour continues but the tartness is never over the top, just enough to peak my interest with each glug. Pleasant dark beer attributes lurk behind the scene, making it friendly and even more interesting. Easy tart fun with barely any carbonation. Really like this sour beer experience. Nice funky beer and finish.

Looks like root beer and a head like it too. Not much aroma, just clear and clean. Some things floating around even tho there is no gunk on the bottom of this 12 oz bottle. Can taste that orange in there if you are looking for it. leaves a slight weird bitter sensation on the roof of the mouth. I’m not sure if I like the attributes that the cinnamon brings to this brew. Does come across as sour at times but not quite the tartness that I have experience3d with the other imp brews. A little dissapointing for this. Goes down fairly easy but probably couldn’t session a sixer of these.

Off funny farmy sweet aroma. Looks like darker hefe, gunk on bottom of bottle, too. Flavorful sourlike taste that nearly comes across as a lambic, a mild real lambic. I don’t think this is a pale ale my friend. Quite interesting to my sour liking palate. Sour and tart yet not overpowering in either. Weird, has many of the attributes as the last indigo I had but a different style in its own way. Smooth like-able and lovely, much better than expected. If this is a pale ale, its one of the better ones I’ve tasted. Wew, yes, quite good and unexpected. Finish is difficult to find any hop bitterness which is quite fine by me. 2 good indigos in a row, looking forward to more of this.
