this doesnt deserve the rating it has gotten. this was a wonderful beer that should be given the respect that it deserves. so many northeast brewers get written off immediately. this was a great surprise, perfect color and aroma and such a great taste that was so refreshing and interesting. great beer.

Biscuit malts with spicy hops in the aroma and flavor. Toasted malt is pretty strong in the flavor with a light fruity note, too. Decent amber lager, though I’ve never been a big fan of the style.

Pretty good looking stout. Black liquid with a creamy beige head. Smells of spices and roasted barley. Somehow, the combination of scents present reminds me of Pepsi, perhaps more like a fancy Pepsi Natural. It has a nuttiness and sweet roasted flavor that are reminiscent of kola nut. The flavor could be a bit more upfront with the pumpkin pie. It’s certainly there, but the stout flavors tend to dominate after the initial tasting. There are nice notes of caramel malt and roasted barley. The hops aren’t terribly strong. The pumpkin flavors mostly come from cinnamon and nutmeg notes. Creamy but has a somewhat thin finish. Perhaps, it could use more carbonation. Very easy to drink for a Pumpkin Ale. The flavors are neither artificial nor cloying. The spices are present but don’t dominate. The stout is solid even if it doesn’t knock my socks off.

Bottle. A very solid lager. Pours a glowing orange-brown with a decent white head. Big, malty nose with some fruity hints to it. Flavor is rich and smooth, heavy on the sweet malts with fruit notes and caramel. Medium in body with mild carbonation. Some pleasant bitterness in the finish and aftertaste.

Draught at Blind Tiger. Plenty of hops but plenty of malt, too. The citrus and earthy hops are well balanced by the caramel malts. I wouldn’t call this a hop bomb but it is a real nice beer. The abv is well hidden, too. Could have a few of these.

(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Golden colour with brief, white head. Fruity, slightly malty nose with citrus, apricots, a touch of spicy hops and some yeast. A bit restrained aromas. Fruity, slightly malty taste with notes of peaches, apricots, citrus, grainy malt and a touch of grassy, spicy hops. Light body, fairly dry. A decent and fairly tasty shot at the kölsch style.

(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Amber colour with brief, white head. Not much yeast in the bottle. Fruity nose with peaches, citrus, soap and sourish hints of wheat. Fruity taste with notes of peaches, apples, a touch of coriander and slightly sourish hints of wheat. Leaning in the thin direction. A bit chemical and far from Bavarian.
