Keg at the Earl Of Essex, 28/11/14. Clear golden blonde with a moderate white topping. Nose is big on spice, ginger, faint liqourice, musty tones. Taste comprises more ginger - not as intense as the aroma, spice rack, herbals, menthol strains, hint of citric peel. Medium body, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. So so - no thanks!

Keg at the Earl of Essex - London. Pours clear gold with no head. Smells like a mix of mouthwash and aftershave; ugh. The taste is something like mouthwash, with lots of cooling menthol and minty essence, then you also get nips of cinnamon and cardamon, with hints of lemongrass. There’s moderate sweetness. Medium bodied with fine, soft carbonation. After a few gulps the palate starts to adjust and there’s a modicum of enjoyment to be had here. There’s some pale bread, a bit of straw, more cardamon and menthol. It’s odd, to be sure, and I have no idea what the motivations behind this beer could have been, but if you embrace the weirdness you can fid something to like.

Cask at the Earl of Essex - London. Pours clear gold with a frothy white head. Crunchy grains and biscuits in the nose with suggestions of lemon rind and hay. Light sweet flavor with good balancing bitterness, some husky grains, grass, hay. Light in body with fine carbonation; quite sound condition. Nicely balanced on the finish with fairly assertive bitterness, biscuis, grains, grapefruit pith, lemon rind. A very nice golden that definitely punches above its weight class.

Keg at the Hare and BIllet, Blackheath. Amber pour with a white head. Aromas of bitter lemon, grapefruit- lots of bitter fruit in there. Crisp nutty-bitter-fruit flavour action going on. Light bitter zing in the finish.

Craft Islington. Keg. Clear deep red - amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is semi dry and crisp. Light airy malts, a very mild dark chocolate and a bare whisper of roast. Mellow smoke. Sharp minerals in the mid. Few esters before a crisp dry finish. For a 6.1% beer it’s quite mild flavour wise.

Tap. Redwillow bar, Macclesfield. Cloudy gold. Bubbly, sticky, white head. Lemon and orange sherbet. Sweet grain. Light hop. Yeasty funk. Taste has soft sweetness, mostly dry. Hint of bitter. Crisp palate, fairly full. Finishes soft sweet. Light dry.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell on 26th September 2014. Clear golden amber with off-white non-lacing ring of foam. Rich and intense fruity and hoppy aromaswith zesty tangerine and grapefruit. Lush grapefruit in-mouth with hints of tangerine. An intense, solidly bitter grassy finish. Gorgeous!

Keg at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours mostly clear gold with a creamy white head. The nose holds lightly doughy malts with hints of ripe blueberries and lemons. Light to medium sweet flavor with some further doughy malts, berries - yep, blueberry - mild grains, soft bitter hay. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderately sweet to finish with modest bitter straw, light grass, lemon, blueberry and melon. Not bad.
