Draught at the Brewery. Black with tan head. Deep roasted malts, seeet vanilla, light spice profile, a faint background burn from the chili, molasses in the end. Restrained in all the right places while still offering a nice twist on an impy stout.

Golden. A bit of medium biscuit up front. Fruity hop notes, Belgian yeast notes, some booze. Medium bodied. Nice.

Orange with a white head. Citrus with light floral hop notes. Backed up with sweet caramel malts. Less harsh bitterness like in most modern IPAs and a more rounded, fuller flavor profile. Finish is sweet and citrus. A well balanced DIPA.

Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is mostly fruit, but there’s some underlying phenolic. Med body or so. Upfront is fruit and light earth, but as that clears rather strong phenolic flavor and tongue sting rolls in. Interesting the way the flavor aspects come and go. There’s an underlying sweetness, might be attached to the fruit aspect, but the phenol part makes this seem dry to me. It’s getting fruitier and earthier with time - maybe my taster is phenol fatigued. It’s not a great beer, but it’s certainly different. I think I’m starting to like it.

Bomber from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown with a slight tan head. Aroma of chocolate and vanilla with a hint of chilies tagging along. Med body or so. Flavor starts vanilla, chili, then gets some chocolate. It has a light fire going, but it’s not in the same class as Crime and Punishment. The malt has something of a dark treacle aspect, and I’m beginning to think it’s just a bit smoky. Maybe that’s just me. Good drink.

22 oz bottle poured, shared by Matt. Thanks! Celebrating the Bengals 7th TD of the year, even though there is very little about this game to celebrate. Pours black with a rocky tan foam head. Slightly dough malt and licorice aroma. Flavor is smooth, and a soft sweet. Chocolate, and a stout unique fruitiness. A late heat to it, reminding the double digit abv bill. Definitely get a unique imperial stout here with the belgian yeast. Overall a pleasant, very tasty stout here. Impressive.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out vanilla beans upfront, followed by big roasted malt, and a touch of chili. Flavour brings out roasted malt, followed by chili peppers and a touch of vanilla. Medium-bodied and pretty well-constructed, but not particularly complex. Solid.
