A dark golden amber ale with a thin white head. A weird aroma of pureed chick peas (typical Trafalgar), and light hops. In mouth, a biscuitty malt with British hops, notes of chlorine, rather watery. Bottle tasted Nov. 27, with GRM and friends.

Bottle: Poured a deep clear brown color ale with a large foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma of unrefined and stale grain is not very enticing. Taste is also dominated by stale grain with some light residual sugar. Noe ester or hops presence could be identified. Body is about average with medium carbonation. No brewing flaws per say but just an incredibly bad brown ale.

A hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, rather herbal hops with notes of cinnamon, lemon. In mouth, a malty ale with catnip herbal hops, a bit of Brett and funk, not bad. However, this is one of the ugliest label on a beer. Tasted Nov. 5 2009 with GRM and Mike H.

Bottle: Poured a murky dirty beige color ale with a medium foamy head with OK retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of light earthy hops is mildly satisfying. Taste is dominated by light grainy malt notes with floral and earthy hops notes – I would wish hops presence would have been more dominant. Body is fuller then average with good carbonation. Not bad considering some of the crap brewed by this brewer but again not really good compared to some other harvest ale out there.

Enjoyable enough Irish red, which doesn’t say much. Caramel and strawberries in the nose. Low hops. Smooth and malty. Decent for what it is.

200 ml bottle from Garthicus. Nose is sweet toffee, dark fruitiness, candi sugar, and honey. Clear brown with almost no head. Flavor is sweet, with some caramel, and a hint of licorice. A Belgian Strong with honey added to boost the ABV to 17% maybe!

200 ml bottle from Garthicus. Nose of honeycomb, the sweetness of candi sugar, and some light apple notes. Clear rust with a very few bubbles. Flavor is sweet honey with some golden raisins, and actually only a tiny bit of alcohol. finish slightly sweet honey! Duh! another mead, maybe! Pretty decent if it’s a mead. Pretty poor Barleywine!

200 ml bottle from Garthicus. Nose is apple juice, alcohol, and honey; sure smells like a mead. Clear gold with that shineyness that makes it look like a mead. Flavor is sweet honeycomb without any bitterness and alcohol; sure tastes like a mead. Finish is light alcohol and sweetness. Body is slightly syrupy like a mead. Doesn’t taste anywhere close to any IPA or DIPA and I’ve had almost 300. Not bad if it’s a 14% mead, horrible if it’s a 14% DIPA. I will take kp’s lead and rate it as a mislabeled mead.
