Bottle 330ml. @ home. [ As my UK rating # 4000 on ratebeer ]. Clear medium orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, light heavy hoppy, grass, citrus, orange - citrus. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110507]

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy aroma with piney hints. Fruity malty hoppy pieny flavor with hints of caramel. Has a slightly roasted malty hoppy piney finish.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy caramel aroma. Sweetish malty fruity hoppy caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy caramel finish.

Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow color with a small white head. Has a fruity hoppy citrus aroma. Fruity malty hoppy citrus flavor with weak piney hints. Has a fruity malty hoppy citrus finish.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty hoppy aroma with weak smoke hints. Roasted malty chocolate flavor with hoppy hints. Has a roasted malty hoppy bitter chocolate finish.

Hazy darkish amber beer, little white head. Light citra nose. Light palate, semi crisp but turns softer. A little creamy malt, fresh orange hop with some earthyness as well, like some Brambling Cross got in. Sweeter orange kicks in but also some herbal bitterness backing it up. Trace of grapefruit. Quite soft well rounded hop flavours but not even a tiny bit wimpy. Soft semi dry finish with more lovely hop flavours coming through. My glass just evaporated!

Centennial Citra Comet Chinook. 7.1%. I’m as sure as I can be this is a new version of 4C, the original didn’t have Comet hops. Hazy gold beer, good white head. Palate is smooth and mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Light malts, mildly sweet. Pithy citric hops, slightly bitter. Nice bright candy fruits brighten things up, little tangerine. Finishes with more pithy bitterness. Good but not quite as good as the original. 3.7.

Citra Centennial Chinook Columbus. Very hazy gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light and mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth but dry malts, mildly sweet. Another of these new style Kernel hop offerings, ie delivers a dominant spicy bitterness. Light pine and light citric orange. Bitterish peel. Light bitterish finish and linger. Good but perhaps a little sharp. 3.6

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A more or less clear one, golden in color and with an off-white head. Tropical aroma with some pale malts in the back. Dry, medium body. The flavor has peaches, pale malts and generic tropical fruits, as well as a good bitterness. Bitter, tropical fruity finish. A tasteful and easy drinkable pale ale. 110129

Big beige head. Hazy deep dark red body. Tropical fruit and farmhouse aroma (WTF?) with citric notes. Dry-sweet wooden tropical fruit and farmhouse taste with spicy lacquer notes. Fizzy mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dryish wooden tropical fruit and oranges aftertaste with metallic earthy notes. Sediment adds hot, peppery feel. Nice, unusual, and full of flavour. More normal IPA than black IPA as far as flavour goes, though. (0.33l bottle, beermerchants.com.)

Medium beige head. Opaque black body goes deep dark red at edges with strong carbonation. Earthy licorice and toffee aroma with soy sauce and chocolate notes. Perhaps a bit raw, but still nice. Dry-sweet earthy dusty chocolate taste with roasty cocoa notes. Fullish body. Mild mouthfeel. Dryish earthy soy sauce and cocoa aftertaste with vanilla notes. Nice, but not entirely harmonic.
