Mature caramel aroma, malt, alcohol, hops. Very good body strength, caramel flavor, chocolate, hopping. Balanced and long final, with caramel and chocolate again, sweet and bitter. Very good.

Black color. Soft aroma, chocolate, mild roasted malt, with notes of vanilla and smoke. Good body strength, good sweet chocolate flavor turning slowly into a more roasted malt type. Good, for a Porter, but not much my favorite style.

Black color, creamy head. Nice aroma, hoppy, with some roasted malt. Medium body structure, witha strong flavor of dark chocolate, rising dark malt to the end, and luckily good hop, and a light fruity freshness. Very good.

Black color, big creamy brown head. Strong resinous hoppy aroma, light phenol. Good body structure, silky, malty, light liquorice, chocolate, strong coffee. Very long final (coffee-like).

Pour is a nice copper color with a white head. Aroma is faint toasted malts. Flavor is caramel malts with hints of nuts with a splash of brown sugar. Overall pretty watery and thin on all fronts.

Bottle. Dark blackish beer with a red tint and cocoa head. Big chocolate aroma with sweet malt. Roasty, coffee flavor with some chocolate and balanced bitterness. Medium/full bodied. Hides alcohol well. Easy to drink.

2005 bottle consumed 9/7/2005. Rich amber to light auburn-copper color. one finger beige head. Lots of big bubbles, clear, with average head retention. Little aroma, light brown bread, munich malt graininess, bits of oranges and cream. Citrus is fairly strong. Slight lacing. Flavor shows some light acidity, fresh, spicy hops and sweet toffee. Quick, clean finish with some bits of caramel sticking here and there. Some light breadiness as it warms, and a good flavorful hops spiciness in the back of the throat. Up front, it’s a bit too hoppy and citric/fruity. Needs a good deal more yeast apparency as well. It’s flavorful, but not bready/doughy enough and relatively low on crispness to the mouth. Caramel, oranges. . .seems more like an American Amber ale than a German amber lager. Carbonation is not bad though and since it’s extremely fresh, it has not had too much time to go stale, as all filtered beers do, and quickly. To style, not so good.

2005 bottle consumed 9/6/2005. Sweet and hoppy once the cap is popped. Quite fresh and powerful smelling. Bit of buttercream backing, but lots of nice tangerines and pineapples. Sharp and spicy, quite perfumey and leafy; the hops stick out nicely, but there’s a good caramel backing in there. Rusty, copper-amber color with a small beige head, moderate retention, no lacing. Clear and filtered/force carbonated. As the hoppiness recedes some sweet nutty and fruity tones are felt. Flavor is perfumey and lightly citric with a good spiciness mixed with caramel. Fruity, pleasant, spicy. Fairly vacuous mouthfeel, but not nearly as bad as most filtered beers. Cherries, oranges. . fade to light nutty caramel.

Very nice complex imperial porter with a medium to full body. Full of chocolate and coffee. Pours black with medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, wood and grapefruit. Variety of flavors including chocolate, roasted coffee, grapefruit, sweet fruits and a slight bitterness at the finish. You can’t detect the alcohol despite the high ABV. Nicely done.

(Bottle 75 cl) As "Wild Dog". Hazy, dark golden with a small, off-white head. Great aroma hops in the nose. Huge, full body with lots of caramelish sweetness. Some fusty notes. Bitter all right, but not overwhelmingly so. 120805

Bottled. Very black, small beige head. Aroma of licorice and blueberries. Sweet with near full body. Feels young and berryish, with notes of orange, anise and molasses. Salty, tarry finish. Bears no connection to Baltic porters, but I really like the concentrated flavours.
