Cask at Mr Foleys Leeds, Friday 13th November 2015. Reddy amber in colour with a nice creamy off-white head. Nice steady hoppy nose. not too pushy, in fact the Autumnal tag works quite well, a touch woody, Loz suggests a bit peachy/apricoty. It’s a good, it’s uncomplicated, fine. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Keg at Cock Tavern. It pours hazy gold with a small white head. The nose is juicy, passion fruit, mango, tangerine, pins colada and touch of pine. The taste is crisp, clean, juicy fruits, pine, fruit punch, pineapple, peach, nectarine, warming alcohol, light spice with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Juicy and rather. One of the best UK dipas I have in some time.

On tap at Holborn Whippet. Hazy amber . It’s a Saison yeast with extra hops I like the dry saison bit. I think the hops are a little over the top. Bit fizzy. Not too cold but too fizzy. Decent hops mind. Good

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Bottle Shop Bermondsey. Pours totally clear gold with a tight, creamy white head. Certainly some dank Southern Hemisphere hops in the aroma, a hint of diesel, mango, grapefruit, day-old urine. Medium sweet flavor but still pretty dry, with ripening tangerine, orange, melon, mango, some citrus pith, mild piney bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Subtly resinous on the finish with touch of sun-kissed pine needles, a little bit of cat pee, lime, melon, orange. Not a hint of alcohol. Very clean, nice hop expression, just enough sweetness to provide the foundation. A really solid IPA on all fronts.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Bottle Shop Bermondsey. Pours cloudy yellow-gold with a fluffy, white head. Dried wheat in the nose, some straw, light grass, lemon peel. Light sweet flavor with light lemony tang, flaked wheat, pale grains, straw. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Relatively dry on the finish, lightly bitter, with some further wheat and grain, crispy hay, rindy citrus, slight phenolics. Overall, a refreshing low-ABV offering.

Bouteille 33cl, bottled 25/09/2015, BB 09/2016, gyle# 74-75. Brune foncée, col crémeux tenace versant sur le café au lait. Arôme offre un bon panache de malt grillé, pointe de fumé, caramel avec un léger chocolaté, petite touche houblonné ajoutant des effluves fraiches citronnées. Palais est axé sur le malt, retrouve un caractère grillé, café et caramel plaisant, le tout est agrémenté d’une pointe de chocolat amer. Niveau houblonné, je note un léger citronné et une touche épicée. Le fini reste sec avec une pointe terreuse et un accompagnement houblonné vert frais. Sur la fin le chocolaté reprend le dessus.

Bouteille 33cl, gyle#67/68. Léger ambré, col épais crémeux blanc-cassé. Arôme offre un léger rétro-nasal caramel, malté, graisn cooncassés avec une once de fruité s’apparentant plus à des baies. Le tout est assez surprenant compte tenu de la deScription put^tot agrumes-tropical des houblons annoncés sur l’étiquette. En cherchant plus loin, je note un bouquet rappelant fébrilement le thé vert. Palais est agréablement houblonné d’où se note une fine amertume. Le malté reste cependant la part dominante de cette bière et offre un fini sec - crisp. Citra est minimaliste tout comme le Mozaic. Possible touche de mangue, pointe d’oignon en poudre avec encore ce côté baies rouges qui sort peut-être de la levure et du mélange des malts crystal-cara pâle. S’inscrit dans l’idée de série automnale, expliquant ce fruité de baies? Pas mauvaise, mais juste ce sentiment que le malt obscure un peu trop le caractère des houblons.

Bouteille 33cl, gyle#63/64. Merci Pierre T. Léger orangé, col crémeux épais blanc-cassé. Arôme est impressionnant et très plaisant offrant de somptueuses effluves de Nelson, petit rétro raisin blanc, pointe de tropical surtout sur des notes de mangue. Palais reste également très plaisant, un houblonné prenant bien le dessus avec un gros coup au niveau du Nelson. Malt est ici plus en retrait et donne ample place au houblon pour percer. Effervescence demeure modéré voire haute, amertume est aussi là mais juste à niveau et sur la fin on reprend un bon coup avec le fruité alternant entre citronné, ananas, mangue et juste une note épicée.

Bouteille 33cl, bottled 06/10/2015, BB 10/2016. Merci Pierre T. Dorée, col fin blanc crémeux, le tout retombant assez rapidement. Arôme est plaisant offrant un agréable parfum houblonné, rétro fruité frais rappelant le citron vert-mojito. Palais est sec/terreux avec pas mal de malt pils, râpeux. Citronné et houblonné petite douceur agrumes. Le tout garde un profil apparenté à du Saaz, citron vert frais avec une pointe épicée en fin de bouche.

Cask at the Euston tap. As birthday double IPA. Hazed bright golden coloured pour with a lasting frothy white head. Aroma is very juicy, spicy citrus, lemon, some dank hop, orange rind. Spicy citrus and some dank hop in the nose. Flavour is composed of clean base grains, bready, big citrus dank hop, , orange and lemon with some mango background. Some alcohol bite in the finish. Aggressive clean hop bitterness. Palate is medium full, sticky resin, but frothy and creamy in the mouth. Very good cask condition. Very good double IPA. Packs a punch.
