Description
Brewing started in February 1999 based in a converted pigsty behind 118 Nottingham Road, Selston, Nottinghamshire. Initially an 18 gallon plant was used but this was quickly expanded to a 2½BBL plant. Moved to Unit 1 Park Hall Farm, Park Hall Road, Denby during September 2001. During early 2004 upgraded to a 5BBL plant with the original plant being sold to Danelaw Brewery. Moved to their current location in late 2010 where they share a building but not plant with Coppice Side.

Cask at the Old Oak Inn, Horsely Woodhouse, 15-08-08 Pours gold with white bubbly head once again, fantastically clear. Nice furry bitterness, some sulphour on nose, some sweetness with honey and syrup in particular showing well.

Cask at the Old Oak Inn, Horsely Woodhouse, 15-08-08 Pours pale yellow with a white bubbly head, this beer is crystal clear. Nice persistent buzzing bitterness, staying dry at the end, good fruity bite that fades into that dryness, some soft malts. Pleasant beer.

Cask, at the Turf Tavern, Oxford 26-05-08 Pours mid gold in colour, some citrus on the nose is immediately apparent in the mouth along with some pleasant raw root ginger, giving a warm burn. Alll of this is underpinned very nicely with a honey spiciness, not bad at all.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 20/11/07. Pale gold with a good white head. Citrus and grassy hop aroma. Flavour had a touch of sweet malt before the hops took over. A decent bitter finish. Enjoyable.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 18/7/07. An amber bitter with a moderate white head. This was very well balanced with an aroma which of floral hops with some supporting biscuity malt. The flavour was a similar mix, starting slightly sweet before a decent dry finish. A good session beer.

Cask gravity London Drinker BF 07. Decent bitter, bit of tea, actually quite a lot of tea. Some bitterness, bit of toffee. The tea though is too much (especially if you don’t drink or like tea).

Cask at the Old Oak (brewpub) 26-12-06 Standard looking bitter that is fairly standard in taste as well, the weakest of the Leadmill beers that I had some lingering bitterness but otherwise lacking in character.
