Today, our beers are available on draught and in six packs, four packs, and bombers across the state. And Mike and Amanda have been joined by a cast of characters that make magic happen at Bristol every day. Collectively, we are a family of smart, friendly people who really love beer. We love the glorious flavor. We love the global tradition and history. We love the art and science of brewing. And the pure contentment of enjoying a pint at the end of the day.
In 2013, we moved lock, stock, and barrel into a former elementary school, where we happily ignore school rules by brewing and serving beer in the classrooms, including our onsite pub. Built in 1916, the building’s hardwood floors and brick walls, former gym and student artwork radiate charm and a hip but super-friendly vibe.

Dark amber. Nice malty-earthy aroma. Caramel on the plate - earthy and sweetish with mild brown sugar notes.

Turbid reddish pour - pretty fizzy, but doesn’t kick up too much of a head - aroma has some odd meaty/smoky phenols, yeasty/doughy character, very mild esters - flavor is slightly nutty, with quite a bit of the same smoke/meatiness from the nose - light acidity - nothing all that dubbelish about it, but I guess it isn’t terrible.

Bottle courtesy of Brandon. Thanks! Dark red orange appearance with an off white head. Toasty, caramel-toffee, a touch roasty-burnt, slightly belgian aroma. Slightly burnt-toasty, toffee, mild caramel malty, slightly belgian flavor. I’m pretty disappointed.

This beer pours a slightly hazy yellow color with a medium thin white head that dissipates steadily. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of Honey Comb cereal along with a bit of yeast. Light body with a sweet malt and honey character along with notes of yeast and fruit. The finish is sweet with a short wheaty aftertaste. Just average overall.

This beer is a dark brown color with a medium light tan head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Smoky aroma with mild roast coffee in the background. Medium body with flavors of charred malt, caramel and dark chocolate. The finish retains the smoked character and leaves a roasty malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle @ home. Dark purple brown appearance with a small tan head. Very sweet, berry, caramel malty, light toffee, light spiciness, mild hoppy nose. Very sweet, smooth caramel malty, red fruity, earthy hoppy flavor. Big sweet caramel malty aftertaste. A surprisingly nice brew.

12 oz bottle purchased at Dillon Ridge Liquors in Dillon, Colorado. 2010 notched on the side of the label. Pour is quite dark golden brown, with a small and loose tan head. Dissipates almost right away. Aroma is darkly toasted malt, along with a floral sweetness and a less pronounced dried fruit. Hint of iodine as well. Taste is the floral, though it is a spiced dry floral rather than sweet, along with the mildly salty dried fruit. The malt is present, but is a touch thin and dry, opening up to a pretty hot finish. Palate is medium bodied, nice un filtered mouth feel, a bit oily, though that clears up with the hot dry finish. I have not had a Barley Wine in awhile, so I enjoyed drinking this. Nice beer, glad I grabbed it.

Opaque black beer. Not a lot of carbonation. Chocolate and marmite nose. Light semi dry palate. Taste follows the nose but adds some rich porty tones and some dried fruits. Dry and warming finish with some aniseed and marmite. Nice beer but not the knockout I was hoping for.
