Description
Labatt has deep roots in Canada stemming from its founder John Kinder. In 1847, a little more than a decade after arriving in London, Ontario from Ireland, John Kinder Labatt purchased London's Simcoe Street brewery in partnership with Samuel Eccles and by 1855 had become the brewery's sole proprietor. The brewery was later renamed John Labatt's Brewery, marking the beginning of one of Canada's largest and most successful companies.

In 1995, it was purchased by Belgian brewer Interbrew. Labatt is now part of the new company, Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev).

Bottle. Pour is a pale and fizzy gold with doughy malt and grassy hop aromas. A touch of pepper in the aroma, too. Taste is a nice mix of pepper and grass hops presence hovering over a soft texture of light malt. (Wow... that’s really bad, but I’m going to leave it.) This is pretty good...

Bottle: Poured a light copper color beer with small bubbly head with limited retention. Aroma of sweet malt with some adjunct. Taste is also dominated by some sweet adjunct notes. Thin body with some medium carbonation. I can find a fault in this beer except for the fact that this is bland and incredibly boring.

I had rated this when I first joined but somehow it disappeared! Bottle from Country Club Liquors; Says brewed and bottled by Guinness Brewing, New Brunswick, Canada; Nose of roastiness, coffee, with light notes of licorice and vanilla; Hazy black with yellow brown edges and a medium beige head; flavor has roasty coffee, hop bitterness, and a molasses note; finish is a reallly hoppy bitterness.

Bouteille 341ml.

Aroma is of toasted malts with some molasses, very light hops hops with vanilla and something slightly sour. Pours with a largish, creamy, light brown head with some lacing. Full retention. Extra dark brown body. Taste is watery up front with burnt coffee out back with a bit of breadyness. Very dry. Too fizzy.

Always a good choice when just having a beer or two. Thick and flavorful...coffee like flavor. A classic beer that is enjoyable

Sampled from a 24 oz can this beer poured a bright golden color with a huge soapy white head. The aroma was sweetish, tangy industrial brew. The flavor was sweetish, tangy and corny. The flavor is remarkably short lived and there is no finish to speak of. Inoffensive.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a pale yellow color with a small white head. The aroma was lightly sweet tangy industrial brew. The flavor was dry and a bit tangy with a note of cardboard. There was remarkably little body and a chewy cardboard finish.
