Description
Labatt has deep roots in Canada stemming from its founder John Kinder. In 1847, a little more than a decade after arriving in London, Ontario from Ireland, John Kinder Labatt purchased London's Simcoe Street brewery in partnership with Samuel Eccles and by 1855 had become the brewery's sole proprietor. The brewery was later renamed John Labatt's Brewery, marking the beginning of one of Canada's largest and most successful companies.
In 1995, it was purchased by Belgian brewer Interbrew. Labatt is now part of the new company, Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev).

On tap at Hotel Bank, on the chic Eddy street in Hull, QC. A yellow laget with a thin white head. Smell of malt and adjunct. In mouth, a bit maltier than remembered, with light metallic hops. Oh well....

I think this is the right one. Draught at an Irish restaurant that says they fly their kegs in from Ireland. Poured black with creamy tan head, built into a traditional pint. Aroma of roast malt, fresh barley toast and molasses. Creamy body, with more malt, molasses and a bit of coffee. Malty finish, with the hop edge and touch of chocolate. Light enough for a session beer.
Earlier Rating: 8/25/2007 Total Score: 3.9
Bottle. Poured black with thick tan head. Aroma of malt and some bread. Flavour, bittersweet chocolate, coffee, and malt. Lasting finish with more coffee. A very worthy stout

Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a very pale straw color with a medium sized soapy white head. The aroma was sour and tangy industrial lager. The flavor was dryish, sour and tangy industrial lager. The finish was dry and bitter. Typical.

Can at Chris o New Year tasting 08/09. Alright lager, some cardboard throughout. Hey what did I expect? It’s a pretty crappy mass produced lager.

Can at Chris o New Year tasting 08/09. Very weak gold colour, thin white head. Odd malt aroma, sweaty cardboard also. It doesn’t taste of anything, some lemon on finish. OK.
