Dark amber colour. Aroma and flavour have a lot of sweet caramel malt. Some floral notes and some spicy yeast notes. Not a very typical IPA.

Hazy dark blond colour with thin head. Aroma has some sweet malt and maybe some honey. The warmth of the chilli is only comng through deep in the throat in the aftertaste.

F: big, egg-white, long lasting. C: deep gold to amber, hazy. A: orange, tangerines, bit pineapple, hint of passion fruits, mango. T: orange, grapefruits, bit pineapple, mango, nice prominent long lasting bitterness on the palate, well attenuated, medium body and carbonation, I like bitterness so good balanced for me, enjoyed, 33cl bottle from Malt Attacks in Brussels.

Clear amber with a lasting, small, foamy, white head. Fresh aroma of mandarin, orange, grapefruit, citrus, mango and fruity hops. It tastes light fruity sour and medium to heavy hoppy bitter with very light fruity sweet notes; dry, hoppy, very bitter, 'tonic'-like finish. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Very fresh and fruity, ends dangerously bitter. Nice!

Bottle at Chez Bonbonne, Brussels Beer Project in the company of Dad, Barry and Scott Friday 9th March 2018 Hazy warm gold with a white head, fruity (mostly citrus/lemon). Dry and fruity with a middling lingering bitterness. Good. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4

One of the few Beerstorming creations that made it out of the Chaussée d'Alsemberg, as this bottle was apparently made at Deseveaux in Boussu; apparently a modern amber ale hopped with Cascade, Magnum and Nuggets and dry-hopped with Hallertau. Very tightly, irregularly 'papery' lacing, egg-white, medium thick, stable and creamy head over a misty deep orange blonde beer with copper hue, teeming with darker dead yeast dots from the start. Aroma of rusk, pink grapefruit peel, spiced cookies, sweet paprika powder, candied orange, dried mango, something sulfuric (egg yolk - the result of autolysis from the dead yeast), moist chicken spices, persimmon, peanuts, fried carrots, old gingerbread, fresh green kitchen spices (majoram), stewing shallot, leek soup. Fruity onset, hinting at peach, unripe banana and red apple, sweetish with a souring, balancing edge reinforced by minerally carbonation, supple and slick mouthfeel, not really feeling like 7% ABV actually. Nice biscuity (rusk-like) malt sweetish body with soft nutty edges, a tad caramelly at its sides, with minerally and restrained sweetish fruity touches here and there; leads to a quenching, juicy, spicy finish, bringing a sturdy, bit resinous, rooty and citrus peel-like hop bitterness with retronasal floral and somewhat grapefruity notes - though lacking in the bright 'orangeness' I was hoping for when I read Cascade on the label, but the herbal (almost fresh kitchen herb-like) qualities of the Nugget and the floral qualities of the Hallertau are certainly there. So is the bittering power of the Magnum, but, in spite of being very outspoken, it manages to keep balance with the biscuity malt sweetishness, like any decent IPA in this particular 'red' substyle should. Yeasty notes, in a light breadiness and some late phenolic spiciness, are present as well but do not bother me too much. Not as refined as e.g. Tartaruga's Simply Rossa, which is also Belgian and roughly comparable in concept, but so far one of the best Beerstormings I had to date - though I obviously haven't bothered keeping track of all their 'impromptu' experiments with laymen, which makes up their core business. I was expecting something with weird, very exotic spicing really, but this is indeed your straight-to-the-point, American style-ish hoppy amber, a postmodern ale perfectly fitting the Brussels 'nouvelle vague'. I like it quite a lot, even if it is actually executed by Deseveaux and even if I should probably have consumed it in fresher condition.

On tap at the 11th Brugge beer Festival, Brugge, Belgium. A hazy golden/orange/amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus, mango, tropical fruit aroma. Tastes similar, hoppy, malty, citrus, mango, tropical fruit, slighty sweet. This was actually rather nice.
