28 April 2019. At Zythos Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke, 77ships & tderoeck! Hazy dark brown, lasting, foamy, tan head. Aroma of prune, raisin, licorice, caramel, Coca-Cola, brioche, mocha, nuts. Taste is medium malty sweet, quite fruity, raisin & prune on a caramelly & brioche-like base, nutty edge, vague bitter tea leaves & mocha, making it finish dryish, herbal hoppy, with more caramel & dried fruits. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Delivers the prunes but does so with too little depth.

28 April 2019. At Zythos Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke, 77ships & tderoeck! Hazy dark amber, unstable, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of candied banana & dates, licorice, burnt caramel, mocha, ‘Ersatz’ chocolate, raisin, green tea. Taste is medium malty sweet, caramel & licorice, faint chocolate, dried dark fruits, slightly sourish that way, herbal bitterness in the form of green tea leaves, mocha; ending dry, herbal hoppy, with more caramel, licorice & faint toast. Medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation. Less ‘dark’ than I would have wanted. Unconvincing.

27 April 2019. At Zythos Bierfestival. Deputy Taster: Anke. Cheers to Ama Deke, Erwin, John & Meeki! Clear pale golden, unstable, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of apple peel, pear, yellow grapefruit, grain, melon, yeast, bread. Taste is light fruity sweet, notes of apple & pear, quite yeasty & bready, sourish lime & wheat, bitter notes of grain, grass, mandarin peel, grapefruit, leading to a dryish, grainy, bit grassy hoppy finish, lingering yeast & yellow fruit. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Sufficiently ‘hoppy blond’ for me but not much more.

Damn backlog, could've been first! :p
Clear amber to red brown beer, no head. Aroma: very malty, caramel, sweet sugary impression, banana notes. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste, pretty bitter, hoppy, some citrus, grassy touch. Aftertaste: malty, some caramel, unpleasant bitterness, dry finish.

Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of overripe banana, bit malty, caramel, sugary impression. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: gentle bitterness, malty, banana, very yeasty, soft roasted touch. Aftertaste: some dried fruits, bit sourish, banana peel, little bitter, pretty dry finish. Where's them prunes? Also: hilarious translation in the festival's booklet. Not two black malts, but two little black men. :p
