Description
The Gueuzerie Tilquin began operations in February 2009. It was 12 years that a new gueuze-producer had emerged in Brabant (the previous was Geuzestekerij De Cam in Gooik, which began in 1997).
The Gueuzerie Tilquin is the first gueuze blendery in Wallonia. The company is located in Bierghes (Rebecq), 200 meters from the linguistic border, and is directed by Pierre Tilquin. Pierre is bio-engineer and holder of a PhD in statistical genetics. He then followed an intensive course in brewing science in Leuven, and he had his experience at the brewery Huyghe (Melle), 3 Fonteinen (Beersel) and Cantillon (Anderlecht).

Bottle from Bierkoning, Amsterdam, Netherlands, Sat 1st October 2011 consumed Sun 2nd October 2011. Pours hazy amber with a thin white rim of bubbles. Classic funky nose, touch farmy, its frizzy, tangy, zappy and a little funky in mouth, marvelous stuff I say! A8 A3 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

Bottle @ chriso. Pours a hazy yellow color with a white head. Has a fruity sour yeasty and tart funky aroma. Fruity sour tart citrus flavor. Has a fruity sour funky finish.

From tap at Moeder Lambic. Pours almost clear and golden yellow with a two finger tall white head. Aroma is mild citrusy and crisp horseblanket brettish. Acidic, light fruity and dry flavoured. Bitter, citric and smooth dry finish.

From tap at Delerium Cafe. Pours hazy dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is mild butterish and caramelish. Sweet, light citric and caramelish to butterish flavoured. Sweet and slight citric finish.

Bottle. Amber beer with a cream colored head. Tart/sour aroma with oak, fruitiness, and some earth. Tart/sour flavor with earth and light citrus. Medium bodied. Tart/sour notes linger with earth, light oak, and light fruitiness. I like it.

[9/24/11] Mahleket Hanikot Shotrim ’11 tour. Bottle at Akkurat in Stockholm. 2010-2011 bottle. Hazy orange color with a big white head. Funky brett aroma with some citrus, a bit of leather and vinegar notes. Very sour prickly flavor with lemon and some barnyard. Medium-bodied, leaves a dry mouth. A tasty Gueuze.

draft@Delirium: hazy amber/caramel with basically no head, taste is acidic, musty, barnyard funk, sour, tart, lemon acid at first with the Girardin lambic dominating, sharp, bit odd lambic which appears to be a bit to young to have gained any dept followed by an aftertaste which is caramel, brown sugar & touch of fruits (melon, papaya,…), the base seems to lack some dept and sophistication, they might benefit from older lambic or maybe even trying a bit different blend but it is still interesting as it stands now

Pours gold into a tumbler. Bright white head with excellent retention recedes leaving trailing sheets. Aspirin, grapefruit and sour funk aromas. Dry with sour grapefruit front to back and throught the lasting tart finish. Nice.

Bottle at RBESG 2011 Grand Tasting at The Dean Swift, London. Pours cloudy gold with a fluffy, white head. Good grass character, also some tangy citrus. Sour, lightly sweet flavor, grassy bitterness. Medium bodied with smooth, massaging carbonation. Grassy, sour finish. Very drinkable and very refreshing.

Bottle. I really like gueuze when its as young and fresh as this one! I get a lot of really sour pear notes. There is some fruit-like sweetness in the background. Dry finish with a woody aftertaste.
