Description
Hi, we’re Van Moll. We’re crazy about beer, which is why we brew it. In 2013 we opened a brew pub in the heart of Eindhoven – our very own flavour lab where everyone can sample our creations. Best idea ever!
We try to delight daily with exciting new tastes and flavours. We experiment and balance, treading the fine line between bold and brazen, without going over the top. A fixed selection of core beers and a varied range of exceptional specials.
Once you’ve mastered the basics, that’s when the adventure really starts. We mix tradition and knowledge with a dash of confidence and cockiness to brew up the perfect party. And that’s exactly what it is: a party for the palate for all who dare.
Grote batches worden gebrouwen bij Lighttown Brewers, waar van Moll deel van uitmaakt.

(Draught at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 17 July 2024) Golden colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, spicy nose with orange peel, apricots, yeast and hay. Fruity, spicy taste with notes of hay, yeast, orange peel, apricots and a balanced spicy/herbal bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Refreshing, with a good, slightly yeasty, saison character. Quite nice.

Pours hazy, fluorecent yellow. Big white head. Scent is fairly hoppy, but perhaps not super fresh ? Seems a bit stale. Mild wheat and some citrus sharpness. Taste is fairly bitter. Again, seemingly older hoppy tones. Coconut style hops - nelson sauvin usually reminds me of that, so thats the hop i'm guessing. Mild wheat, touch citrus , but not very clear on the coriander at all. Decent beer, but not very memorable.

Black with creamy head. Aroma is very oaky, woody. Very thick and creamy texture, especially for a barrel aged version. Lots of wood. Some sherry, whisky and generic spicy alcohol notes. In the background there's plenty of heavily roasted bitter malt.

0.33 l bottle from 'Mr. Hop', best before February 2028. Very dark ruby to black with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, quite roasty and a little fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted hazelnut, rum and some vanilla. Quite sweet, malty, fairly roasty-bitter, gently boozy and a little fruity taste of dark chocolate, hard roasted coffee, roasted hazelnut, rum and some vanilla, followed by a long, fairly roasty-bitter, peppery finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Heavy stuff, very nice to sip on.
