Black with a beige head. Massive malty aroma with chai spices. I think I can recognize cinnamon, cardemon, cloves, nutmeg and ginger but it's hard to know for sure. What is sure is that these spices complement the stout immensly, making it warming and long lasting. Great spiced stout,

On tap at Craft & Draft, Amsterdam on 30th November 2024. Rated as a novelty ale. Impenetrably black with tan foam and 360° of full lacing. Sweet and intense liquorice in aroma. Roasty aniseed and liquorice in-mouth, continuing to dominate the finish before broader spiciness builds. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Keg at ... If It Ain't Dutch, Bermondsey, 01/11/24. Golden topped with an off white covering. Nose is caramel, malt loaf, light spice, stewed fruits. Taste comprises fruit cake mix, dates, booze, melted sugars, dates, toffee. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Okay simple barley wine if lacking some depth.

Bottle. Color: Clear copper, beige head. Aroma: Sweetish, sugary, boozy, caramel, spicy notes, hints of nuts. Taste: Again sugary, sweetish, caramel, boozy spirit notes, almond, subtle spicy notes. Medium body, below average carbonation. Over moderate to medium sweet, moderate bitterness. Nice complexity. Unusual barrels. Nice one.

Bottle. Color: Lightly hazy orange amber, off-white head. Aroma: Malty, sweetish, vinuous, Moscatel. Taste: Sweetish, some bitterness. Malty, wheat malt, Moscatel wine, sweet grapes. Medium body, below average carbonation. Bit boozy. Moscatel is a bit overwhelming the base beer, but quite nice overall.
