Cloudy (though bubbles are visible) deep orange amber color, big frothy off-white head, good retention, fair lacing. Aroma at first somewhat shy, lemon, orange, apricot, marmalade, grassy, soap. Taste medium sweet, medium bitter, citrus, herbal notes. Medium body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation, bit spicy mouthfeel, finish dry bitter, spicy and herbal notes, overall a nice saison.

Tripel from the NovaBirra beer company brewed at De Ranke. Stable, sticky, off-white head over a clear, deep orange blonde beer. Aroma of grapefruit, orange peel, peach, grass, pineapple, strawberry and caramel; fruity taste with sharpish carbonation, peachy, mango, caramelly malts, spicy yeastiness, quite long finish of grassy hop bitterishness, a bit citrussy. More than decent.

Aroma: roasted coffee and sweetness. Flavour: berries and roasted coffee. Unfortunately to carbonated. Colour: very dark reddish brown with a light brown head.

Bottle from Willems. Almost black with a lasting beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, milk chocolate, cocoa and a little vanilla. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. Carbonation is a bit high. 291114

Bottle at Chez Moeder Lambic Saint-Gilles - Brussels. Pours clear amber-gold with a frothy, off-white head. The nose has some toasted cereal grains, berries, ripening orange. Medium sweet flavor with cereal sugars, bitter grain husks, some dirty hay, citrus rind, light tangy tangerine. Light-medium bodied with average carbonation. Moderately sweet to finish with further cereal grains, some dry bread, berries and leaves, slight tart berries, leather, earth. So so.

Bottle at the "couldn’t be arsed to do anything else on a Wednesday tasting @ ABC Beers". Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin frothy white head. The aroma is light caramel, toffee, yeast, alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet, very light bitter with a yeast, alcoholic, light floral palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
