Description

Depuis 2011, je brasse mes propres bières: Big Mama Stout, Big Nose Triple, Holy IPA et Seed of the New Grace.

Je soutiens également des projets de personnes ayant suivis mes cours de brassage.

Saison made by Nova Birra at De Ranke. Stable, creamy, yellowish white head, cloudy amber robe. Flowery aroma, honey, lavender, soap, caramel, cooked rhubarb. Fruity taste with light citrus freshness on a caramel malt base, mild leafy and bit spicy hop bitterness in the finish. Nice but I had better saisons.

Taste is about the same: some malts, lightly yeast, slightly sweet and slightly floral / blossom. Average body, a bit firm carbonation.

Following the first batch which was brewed at Jandrain-Jandrenouille, NovaBirra again came to Belgium to brew this second batch at De Ranke. Thin, light beige head, colour close to black but not entirely so as a ruby red hue is still visible. Complex malty aroma, dates, bitter chocolate, coffee beans, apple sauce, biscuit; profound malty taste, rye detectable if you are familiar with it, lots of cacao beans effectively added and further adding to the complexity, finish a long toasted, mouth-filling bitterness, full and creamy mouthfeel. Not the most complex imperial I tasted so far, but a great beer nonetheless, undoubtedly with great ageing potential.

15 cl. sample glass @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Hazy milky orange with a creamy white head. Nose is full of sweet banana, fruity esters, sweet white bread and some vanilla. Tastes of bitter esters upfront followed by sweet white bread, sweet herbs, vanilla, banana, sweet BE yeast, very creamy and moderately sweet but no overkill. Very creamy sweet BE yeast body, quite pleasant.

Little cloudy dark orange to amber beer, creamy irregular off-white head, little stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass; Aroma: sweet and sugary, little spicy, some bubble gum. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bit sweet start, citrus, fruity, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: little bitter, spicy, sweet and sugary yet not cloying, some citrus, hint of spices. Very subtle, but not bad!
