Dark golden colour. Pale malts dominate both the flavour and the aroma. Light yeasty, spicy taste. Interesting, different and a bit strange due to the massive level of malt.

Bottle. Blackish pour, white head. Aroma of chocolate, yeast and caramelised malt. Taste has sweet chocolate, yeast and some caramel. Typical belgian stout.

Vintage bottle tasted at 666 in Uccle near Brussels. Creamy, loose, off-white head over a deeply bronze beer, but not opaquely black. Pleasant aroma of home made caramel, chocolate and cocoa, bourbon, raisins, banana, sherry-like oxidation and walnuts. Candied sweet onset, but not too sugary or cloying, candied dates and raisins, banana, strong hearty umami flavour, soft carbo, roasted and caramelly malts, bittering and rich, toasted bread, peppery hops and brandy-like alcohol in the finish. Belgian style stout, not as roasted and ’dense’ as many other stouts, but a very good beer for sure.

Bottle at Bier Circus. It pours lightly hazy golden-amber with a thick white head. The nose is sweet, juicy, stewed orange, apple, candy, pear and candy. The taste is bitter-sweet, juicy, apple, pear, doughy, icing sugar, candy, cereal and toasty grainy with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not too sweet and rather drinkable. A very good tripel.

Bottle at Hoppy Loft, Brussels, Thursday 19th March 2015 A pretty decent Triple, that was until I did some weird balancing move with beer and hand and somehow managed to knock 3/4 of my beer over the floor. Even now I cannot see quite what I was doing, Loz looked at me and said ’what did you do that for’? as though beer chucking was a now a new pastime of mine. Anyway I hadn’t yet rated it and with none left I can’t now, but trust me it was pleasant. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Bottle picked up at Dranken Geers,Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie, consumed at Barry & Lynns, Wednesday 28th January 2015 Pours black with a huge foamy light beige head. Wonderful bitter chocolate, its very good the dark cocoa excellent, its malt laden/heavy there is a gentle warmth, its a lovely rich and smooth beer, a tad one dimensional perhaps but who cares on this occasion and particularly when it is as good as this. (Bottle, Chez Moeder Lambic St Gilles, Brussels, 24 Oct 2014) Golden amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with apricots, orange and a touch of caramel. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, apricots, candy sugar and a balanced spicy bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Quite nice.

Klares dunkel goldgelbes Bier mit einer schönen weißen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr fruchtig malzig, hefig, würzig, etwas Citrus. Geschmack kräftig malzig, reife Früchte, Honig, Gewürze, bitter hopfig.

Bottle from Beergusto. Hazy orange golden color with small white head. Malty aroma with caramel, honey, yeast, citrus hops Taste, sweet malt, honey, yeast, hops with oranges, light pines. Alcohol is dangerously hidden. Good.
