Can. Amber with a huge fizzy white head that then fizzes away. Smells like a soft drink but tastes like a heavily spiced beer. The ginger is earthy and mild and sits in with brown bread and golden syrup. Finish is slightly bitter too. A little intrigue.

Can. Bright pastel yellow with lace. Creamy lemon nose. Tart and sweet, creamy, lemon, lactic. Somewhat slick body. Not bad.

Celebrating the start of my summer vacation! Sailors Grave Drowned Man IPA 4.8% West coast type aroma featuring zesty citrus hops with rye bread peppery malt character. Medium to full bodied with a classic and satisfying flavor that hits the spot.

Can. Amber with a cream head. Floral aroma with toasted caramel biscuit. Quite sweet with a woody, sappy end that tames the sweetness a bit after a time. Can't really tell where honey flavours stop and malt flavours begin. Some intriguing spices emerge at the end after a while. A good match for hard cheese. If anything, Sailors Grave are getting _more_ interesting.

Can, from Meatsmith. Clear amber with an inch of off-white head. Aroma is earthy and spicy - you'd certainly guess rye but the other things are not so obvious. I found the earthiness a bit feral. Medium bodied, perhaps a little fizzy. Bread and yes, deep umami flavours like the singed flavours of a rauchbier without the smoke. Quite firm bitterness at the dryish and salty end. Pretty good, no freakshow.

Can. Orange with a small white head that never quite disappears. Gently funky aroma with old lemons, oranges and damp wheat. I suppose it's just slightly tart and the whisky is there but neither exactly stand out. Dry and a little woody as well as spicy at the end. Pleasant but a bit timid.

I would not buy a beer of this description from many other breweries but SG have demonstrated they do not throw these things together. Can. Just pinkish amber with a huge white head. Aroma is earthy and grassy with berries and brooding funk. After a time the berries happily stand out a little more. And then coffee, tartness, citrus zest and green as well as red berries are a bit of surprise - most of that I guess is coffee-related. No bitterness, moderately sour and pretty salty at the end. Good.

From a 355ml can on 6/5/2021. Pours a fairly clear deep golden with a big foamy head. The nose is earthy grassy and a bit yeasty. It starts with quite a bit of malt and fruit sweetness, followed by a mild grassy, herbal bitterness featuring bay leaves. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A really odd beer - almost has a bit of Belgian about it - but quite interesting. Wouldn't have again but worth a try.

Can. Deep gold with a large white head that laces very well. Funky earthy aroma with some grain, spices, bread. Maybe a little banana. Pretty much how it tastes too - grainy, not all that fruity with bitterness that builds a little and a decisively dry finish. Good.

Can. Clear amber with an off white head. Aroma is mildly earthy with grass seed, toasted malt, some tropical fruit. Moderately sweet with more conventional pale malt flavours and passionfruit before a roasted seedy bitterness, drying grass and a mild astringency come through. Complex and artfully balanced. Unlike anything else I’ve had.
